#Reduced EXP Requirements in Any Tier to Evolve Tier 3

Introduction
Player progression is a critical component of any game, serving as a significant motivator for continued engagement. In many tier-based progression systems, evolving to higher tiers often requires substantial experience (EXP) accumulation. This requirement can sometimes be daunting, leading to player fatigue and decreased motivation. One area where this is particularly evident is in the transition to Tier 3. This feedback proposes reducing the EXP requirements across all tiers for evolving to Tier 3, aiming to enhance player satisfaction, engagement, and overall game balance.

Current State of EXP Requirements
In the current system, the EXP requirements to evolve to Tier 3 are substantial, creating a significant barrier for many players. This can lead to several issues:

Player Fatigue: The high EXP requirements can cause players to feel exhausted and frustrated, leading to burnout.
Decreased Engagement: Players who find it too challenging to progress may lose interest and disengage from the game.
Unbalanced Progression: The steep EXP curve can create imbalances, where only the most dedicated or time-rich players can advance, leaving others behind.

Problem Statement
Evolving to Tier 3 should be a rewarding milestone for players. However, the current high EXP requirements can turn this achievement into a tedious grind rather than a moment of triumph. This situation can negatively impact the overall player experience, leading to lower satisfaction and retention rates. By reducing the EXP requirements, we can create a more balanced and enjoyable progression system.

Proposed Solution
The solution is to reduce the EXP requirements for evolving to Tier 3 across all tiers. This adjustment aims to make the progression to Tier 3 more achievable and rewarding for a broader range of players.

A team which beats stage 3 and uses 6 slots for experience (yes, such teams exist) gets around 1.5k effective xp per battle. With 8 battles per run you need 4.8 runs to get 57500 xp. I disagree that this is too much. I would even say it is too easy to level an Illuvial up.
BUT I gave the same sort of feedback during pb4 because my teams weren't able to achieve this.

I'm with Ligyron. I feel it is actually too easy to Level up.

  • Keep in mind there are flintcaps.
  • you very likely don't want to Level up 46 lynxes and 6 titanors in open beta

The gameplay going to Change massively as soon as we are in mainnet and people need to pay for their Runs, and there isn't an airdrop with f2p which rewards you for multiple Set collections

i agree that leveling is a hard grind, but theres a value proposition from making it not too easy.
once u got illuvials with a decent starting stats, and u max them, theres little incentive to keep playing OW. unless ur farming to earn. then again farming to earn is a good addition to the economy

#

you would want whales to pay high prices to use them in leviathan

IMO stage 2's are way too easy to farm, and stage 3's are ok

remember we dnt have end game content for OW yet. ngl after grinding for more than a month, im getting bored

#

i only been using 1 team to win the battles regardless of their comp, just use rare consumables.
every fight feels the same tbh

#

just diff positioning

That's almost all Games if you grind it super Hard for a month.
And in the End it's still a gamified pack opening...

Sure... But thats the Main thing, right.
Constant Updates need to be done to keep people engaged. You will See the "i'm bored, when new content" all the time in future 😄

that's more the case with PVE games. PVP is eternal. CS go is still played after all these years.

I mean sure, but you build a good game and it stands the test of time. LOL doesn't need new content. Chess doesn't need new content. PVP is the content.

Sure... just build one of the best Games of all time and no Updates going to be needed. EZ 😄

vs 250m football players

bruh that's a sport and it only helps proving my point even further. Football has no content updates, the only update is the renewal of players.

what does Counter Strike, League of Legends and Fortnite have in common? Are they AMAZING games? I would argue they are good but not amazing. They were simply groundbreaking and innovative at the time they were released, defining their genres and attracting a lot of players.

I think all games have in common that they are basically impossible to perfect because of their complexity and have a hugh focus on pvp without excluding weaker players

sure, I'm not discussing personal preferences. Higher player base = more appealing.

This was a pretty tough read because I think you mean to say stage three instead of tier three in most places. I like where leveling is at for tier 5 Illuvials, but would maybe support a slightly easier path to full level as the tiers go down to 0. This may be problematic though with unlimited levels. If possible, A “tiered” leveling structure would add a little something to the game for me personally and feel like 57k xp is a pretty reasonable amount and requires very little fine tuning, if any.
