Introduction

To enhance the gameplay experience in Illuvium Overworld, I propose adding three new items: Repellent Spray Scent, Lure Spray Scent, and Plant-based Traps. These additions will address current frustrations and introduce new strategic elements.

Benefits

Repellent Spray Scent:

  1. Avoid Annoying Morphops: This spray will keep Morphops away for 30 minutes, preventing them from disrupting farming activities, especially when chasing Illuvials.
  2. Future-proofing Against Illuvials: Once Illuvial combat is introduced, the repellent can also protect against random Illuvial attacks while farming.
  3. Utilize Plant Resources: The spray can be crafted using plant resources, adding more value and use to the plants in the game.

Lure Spray Scent:

  1. Attract Desired Illuvials: This spray will help players lure specific Illuvials to certain spots, making hunting them easier.
  2. Enhanced Gameplay: For example, if there is a cluster of Illuvials with a water-based Atlas among fire Illuvials, adding a water Morphop to the lure spray can attract the Atlas away from the group. This adds another use for Morphops and enhances strategic gameplay.
  3. Strategic Depth: Combined with plant-based traps (like in the Atlas example above), the lure scent can add a new strategic layer. Players can place traps, activate the lure scent, and position themselves advantageously to catch or combat Illuvials.

Plant-based Traps:

  1. Enhanced Hunting: Traps can confuse, stun, slow down, or even life leech Illuvials, making it easier to capture or defeat them.
  2. Combination Tactics: Players can use lure scents to draw Illuvials into traps, activating the lure by shooting it and positioning themselves strategically.
  3. Resource Utilization: Traps can also be crafted using plant resources, providing another use for these materials.

Implementation

  1. Crafting System: Integrate sprays and traps into the crafting system, using plant resources.
  2. Balanced Use: Limit duration to 30 minutes for sprays and set cooldown periods to ensure balanced gameplay.
  3. Feedback: Implement clear visual and audio cues for the spray and trap effects to enhance player experience.

Conclusion

Adding Repellent Spray Scent, Lure Spray Scent, and Plant-based Traps will make Illuvium Overworld more strategic and enjoyable, reducing frustration and keeping players engaged. These items will also provide additional uses for plant resources, enriching the overall gameplay and introducing new, exciting strategies.

PS: More advanced crafting blueprints could be researched by Illuvium Zero players 😛

While I like the idea, rather than a spray would you consider maybe a decoy drone or drones? Upgrades to the drones could include attracting and increased number of Illuvials, a trapping/capture function and possibly others.

I like where your head is at.

Those are really good ideas @coarse ferry . They also seem fairly easy to implement and give additional use to plants 💯

Just so it makes more sense, what if instead of spray its a cream made out of the essences?

Doesn't need to be a spray.

Spray is a placeholder for something that fits into the Illuvium universe.

Maybe "Nanomist" or if it's a spray "Synthspray" would also sound good.. but whatever, I'm sure the Team would make sure to add something that makes actually sense.

Drone upgrades or a special slot for the drone to add mixtures like this and it sprays it at Morphopods that get too close would also be a really cool idea.
