#Raids need to be epic

And rewarding.

There's currently not really any content for casual gameplay.

The Arena mode is after all, a pay2win PvP experience.

The grind for Arena is a pay2play experience(yes you can T0 but at certain rank you will hit the paywall).

And that's fine, some will love it.
But where's the casual fun?

I'd say Raids is the only actual chance of onboarding casuals.

You farm your team even if its T0, you join the raid with friends and some randoms, kill giant and epic bosses and get rewarded.

That sounds like a nice casual experience.

I honestly think Raids should be the main focus after launch and if successful be treated like a live Service, being Updated frequently to amuse the casuals.

  • make raids epic
  • live service style for at least 6M
  • hourly execution
  • free2play
  • rewarding (Ilv exp, non-chain loot)
  • grindy, have different stages getting harder each
  • Have the first players to beat endboss XYZ engraved in an ingame Monument

Just having a teaser trailer ready for launch, saying "prepare your team for the raids" would do a lot already.

This way theres something to grind for, for those that aren't too interested in arena pvp.

The barrier of entry is definitely a concern in web3 games. Within our existing 3 games ecosystem we addressed this in the recent year by making ilz have a f2p option, free pre-made team in ascendant along with free weekly rotation and now the gauntlet is coming out with 0 need for any assets

Sure the more we can reduce that barrier without breaking our economy the better but i feel weve done a very good job at it with our existing game for launch

Deciding on the next game will require a lot of research and its not something worth discussing in details until we have successfully launched imo

This goes along pretty well tbh with my overworld combat system and illuvial weapons/armor idea. I think what you’re asking for is at least in essence what the team has planned for their raid updates however, clarifying in advance is always a good idea

Yeah it's rough giving feedback when we have so little insight.
I honestly think Illuvium is just one step away from becoming an actual banger game.

I feel like one core part is missing, it's like all game-loops are ready to go but the main show is missing. While everything implemented so far is awesome extension to that missing core.

I don't think Story-like NPC encounters are the solution. I think 4-8 Player vs Boss battles on a gigantic epic looking arena boards might be worth a try tho Pho_Haha just casual action stuff.

I don't mean to replace arena or anything. Live-service doesn't have to cost much, just have whatever budget available be dedicated to it, and let there be new bosses/stages every now and then.

Even if I were to grind the game, join official prize pot tournaments & be totally dedicated to arena (which there is a good chance to). I'd still like to have some casual co-op time with buddies. Inside Illuvium, not any next game.

And since they've teased raids, I thought I'd add my two cents.

Co-op Multiplayer is a big aspect in the pc master race environment after all.

I'd love this. The community has been asking for additions such as these, including dungeons.
The response has been they would need to be separate games.
I believe they are all on the table yet the basic formula needs to get out first.

After hearing yesterdays AMA, perhaps the game will already have the missing core i was talking about. Which is lore.

However, we shouldnt underestimate what power a casual raiding experience could have To_The_Moon
