Crimson Waste is a pain because of them.
Yeah the damage is dealt before the projectiles hit which make them annoying for sure 😄
Not only that, their damage is insane, you get no notice when being attacked from behind, and the projectiles go through walls.
My fav map is Crimson and it really pains me to play there because of the morphopods...
At somr point whrn your HP gets low you just start placing TPs. Even during a chase. Then they dont matter at all. You just respawn right back where you were, shoot the pod in the face and go on your merry way.
Takes some practice to realise that you are about to die tho.
Not only that my favourite map is Crimson, Crimson is the best map if you have a bad pc. But with them flying around constantly even crimson fps is down 50% because of that.
Also, worst thing is that I'm trying to catch some Illuvial and during the fight my drone just dies because of them...
I've been killed while spawning on a tp...
We should be immune to damage while locked to animations. I'm locked front flipping to an encounter and getting my 4ss rekt by morphopods 🤣
I think they make the game more challenging so I wouldn’t take them out completely but they definitely need to be tweaked for how much damage they do also sometimes I find my health is going down with no real indicator as to why…not sure what’s happening there.
Maybe fix but I honestly think the overworld isn’t hard enough
How can it be hard when everything runs away from the ranger and only insects attack you...
Every illuvial acts the same way... When I'm fighting/chasing a squizz lighting should be falling from the sky. Or avoiding walls of flame when hunting a rhamphy, etc...
You guys should try playing on 10 fps and then say the overworld isn't hard enough 😄
I like this feature of having something debuffing/killing you. I think the main problem is that its not obvious where you are being attacked and they are also very hard to see sometimes, especially if the person doesnt know he can use the night vision to help
People have been loud and clear about this feedback, curious to see if we got some change to morphopods in the next update
its attacking you but hasnt rendered correctly XD or is cross map sniping you with a aim bot

There is 0 audio when I am getting shot.
Honestly would love a hotfix that turns off their damage, holy cow are they annoying.
It should be fun-hard. Not just annoying 😛 currently they only reset your progress on the map and it is just a nuisance.
I was just trying to catch something in Crimson waste and just died. I had no idea there is anything attacking me and that I'm losing health.
Worst part for me is that you can't outrun them. I'm moving fast chasing Illuvial and I just die.

you could also increase the number of insects in each pack... it's the annoying singe flying bugs, that is hard to spot... at the same time lower the damage from those that damage you.
Would also be cool to have something that could heal you over time, when you have taken damage, sometimes it's better to "kill yourself" to respawn if you are very low on HP... which should not be the case. Maybe make some of the insects heal instead, or if you equip an Armor. (higher stage more healing over time)
With the jetpack you can sometimes "outrun" them but yeah they are still kinda annoying
You didn't even mention the annoying bugs they cause when you get killed during an action.
I've had resources not getting collected and the node being permanently locked as a result of getting killed mid-harvest.
If, while you're trying to capture them, they kill you before the drone is done, they maintain a lock on you and continuously deal damage, even across the whole map, sending you into an infinite death loop.
Also, you can't even clear them out as they respawn every time the map is reloaded (like after encounters).
And there's a max carrying capacity, so eventually you can't even get rid of them all, only stun them.
In short, they're more trouble than anything.
If not removed, I'd suggest cutting down their numbers to about 1/4 of what spawns now. Lower the damage output of the higher tier ones, or at least make it clear when you're taking damage. As of right now I usually react only when I'm getting killed or when my hp has already dropped below 20.
The only solid argument I've seen so far in favor of morphopods is to fight bots.
To be fair, if they are actually useful and can be used for something it would be a bit less pain to spend energy on capturing them. But as we can't do anything with them currently it's more painful.
The use case they're meant for (Podarium for dyes in IZ) will most likely not benefit from having this amount of them available for capture anyway.
Yeah, that's for sure. It's similar with those Integrity plants.
But what I'm saying is that currently in Crimson Waste I have to spend 300-400 energy on them and I get nothing. Once they can be used spending those 300-400 energy I have to will hurt less.

They definitely need a rework if they are going to stay. Current mechanic is an annoyance rather then increasing difficulty or being fun
Summary: they suck
It does make it difficult to go fast around the map. If you slow down and. Check your area they can usually be taken care of. Difficult though when you are chasing a super fast Illuvial down.
Just remember things are harder because people asked for it and there was little to no push back.

Lol, I have to laugh at everyone complaining about the bugs. Remember guys, you just crash landed on a planet. There could be far worse things than bugs attacking you 🙂 Also, months ago people were complaining that the OW is too boring, now it's too many bugs!
If you're able to laugh then you surely haven't played enough.
it's not that "it's too many bugs!", the damage dealer ones are broken.

Yea I like the fact that theres a <<ressource>> trying to.hurt you. Id even have aggressive plants as well.

yes you run pass them and you lose 1/3 of your HP

I understand your frustration.
Currently, avoiding the incects is a trivial task, and the OW should be difficult enough (especially in higher tiers) where dying is possible and happens. It will always be annoying and have some consequences.
I agree, we should fix the technical bugs and add a damage indicator via upgrade, but we should also make the OW more difficult. It's so easy it's boring.
Friction is good in games, and that's pretty widely accepted.

that's the thing morphods add ZERO difficulty, they're simply annoying, and annoying is quite literally the opposite of fun which is what a game is supposed to be. I'm not gonna go further into this. Make me die from rhamphy's flames or squizz's lighting bolts.
I fear you just might not like what the overworld is going to develop into and that's okay we have other games
The only path forward is putting more and more valuable things behind what you are calling annoying experiences because we have to keep it possible for people to get their value from the game but also add layers to skill and outperformance.
So layers of these annoying experience are all that's going to develop.

in the OW it's going to be a ton of annoying and low consequence obstacles because that's what the incentive structure dictates

Bugs spawning inside walls/objects, shooting through walls objects, not having hit indications / sounds.
Honestly, those bugs aren't even in a alpha phase. Of course people are annoyed by them.
Oh yeah and of course they also respawn after encounters.
Perhaps if all those things are fixed they're fine, but until then why not simply turn of the damage.
I love how you hate it brah. It means theyre doing exactly what theyre intended to. These little mosquitos looking like fukers WHY CANT THEY ALL DIE. But yea it needs a fix where the dmg and the attacks are a bit more obvious. And maybe not letting hit you trough walls 🤣
No clue how often I had to alt+f4 the game to not lose an encounter, due to dying to those pesky bugs. But I did it a lot.
I'm playing since private beta and I can tell you that at some point you'll just stop killing them and alt+f4 the game whenever you die. Hopefully you had placed a teleported not long ago

gotcha. You have no clue then.
At some point you gotta check your HP every time you hear Flouts around you. Thats 1/2 of the times that you die. It is a very obvious twinkling sound so it is easy to condition yourself.
If you start doing that, and then place a Teleport when you get under 30 hp, you should not be obstructed by them at all, except when they kill you during scanning.

yeah but I like to use the teleport beacon for strategic map locations or for the ergon rifts not for a desperate safety measure.
Well you tend to go to the red parts on the map, you die in the areas you go to, the red areas also have ergon rifts. So time it a bit well and you should be fine!
I have it pretty much figured out by now. Doesn't change my opinion though. And let's not forget all the bugs that come out of these fellas killing us.
there are more fun ways to go about it im just saying the bugs are a cheese for a dmg dealer they should just debuff and add actual mobs to fight or make it that you can take dmg from the illuvials i just want a casual experience
