The developments made are amazing! OW feels like a totally different game compared to a few months ago. One thing is clear it's a really fast-paced game now, though a few things are still holding it back.

Negative points:

  • Having to scan encounters kills the game flow. The ethereal Illuvials were a step in the right direction, but it still isn't enough. The highest capturable Illuvial should always be visible in the OW so players can see at a glance who they can possibly capture without having to stop and scan, maintaining the fast pace. Three capturable Illuvials are good, and maybe the next step could be to show all three in the OW, with the two weaker ones trying to defend the strongest.

  • Damage dealer Morphopods are not fun or challenging, just annoying, and they distract from the Illuvials. These insects should be annoying, not deadly. Additionally, losing resources when they kill during an action or dying out of nowhere while speed running the map is frustrating.

  • Fuel costs are still completely out of balance. The Crypton cost for stage 3s is too low, making stage 2s meaningless unless players are not yet able to complete stage 3s. The ratio from stage 2 to stage 1 is 2.67, and stage 3 to stage 2 is 2.125. My suggestion is to price stage 3s at 1000 Crypton adjusting the ratio to 2.5 when compared to stage 2s, aligning more closely with the stage 1 to stage 2 ratio.

  • Sliding feels clunky since it locks into the animation. Just like the jet pack, shooting should cancel the sliding animation, or even better, allow shooting while sliding for a smoother gaming experience.

  • The fusing experience is lackluster. Not only could the animation be improved, but it should show the final fusion stats.

  • Capture rates of stage 1s are too similar to stage 3s of the same tier. I would suggest to slightly increase the stage 1 and stage 2 capture chance.

Positive points:

  • The reduction in the cost to gather resources by half was an amazing change. This, paired with the increased resource density per map, completely changed the way I play. I don't feel like I'm losing so much by not doing specialized runs (mining/harvesting/hunting). Now, I just selectively shoot everything I want to collect. This is how I always envisioned the OW, a wholesome experience instead of being specialized to one resource per travel.
