I believe its crucial that we have the arena in a competitive state (balanced + incentives to grind) for our Open Beta launch.
Rewards were supposed to be paused for a couple of weeks. It's been a couple of months, and when people ask about it in the chats, we don't get answers. Part of me worries that the team is silently removing arena rewards because there will be an airdrop already.
This post highlights the importance and impact of having arena rewards back in force, at least for Open Beta. The goal is to gauge community sentiment around this topic and hopefully learn about the team's plans concerning arena rewards.
The competitive side of the arena is a key component of our ecosystem. With arena rewards, the demand for illuvials and armaments will be much higher. This, in turn, means higher prices and an incentive for people to play Overworld and pay for their runs. More people paying for Overworld means higher fuel prices and encourages people to buy lands and play them.
Having the arena in a competitive state for Open Beta will bring the entire ecosystem to its magical, interoperable state at Illuvium's most important moment in its history.
The airdrop is to attract people to our ecosystem. I believe it's important to have arena rewards so that everyone can fully engage with the Illuvium ecosystem and truly fall in love with it.
Let's convert those airdrop farmers!
