So I was talking about this idea on last weeks episode of The Download and I was surprised at how much the community liked it. I even had more than 1 person mention it to me directly after the fact asking I create a post and so here it goes.
The idea is relatively simple: You incorporate all future games back into the Illuvium Overworld through the use of NPC's , the lore and other devices.
Since the autobattler is being phased out of the Illuvium Overworld, myself like many others thought that would be an absolute shame. Its niche and isn't fun for everyone, but many, like myself actually quite enjoy playing the autobattler in the Overworld and it involves some fun aspects of strategy. I won't ever forget getting drop kicked by Whitney until I found a Fighting type, or Brock slapping my Charmander into the Shadow Realm until I found a Grass type. Its these moments that I want to preserve, and thankfully because of the interoperable blockchain game systems, we can.
Lets say there are 3 future games all of varying genres in the Illuvium Universe. The Gauntlet autobattler, The Illuvikart Kart Racer, The Illuvinite Battle Royale.
Now sure, you can leave people to find them naturally via content creators, or through the Illuvium ingame UI, but what if they were worked into the Illuvium Overworld in a non intrusive way. And thus I present 3 scenarios.
-
You are running around Crimson Wastes and a Ranger is standing near the Obelisk. After a short conversation he says you can have 10 Chrovium if you defeat him and his allies in an autobattle, to accept it costs you 300 energy and after its complete he gives you x and y reward, maybe even some soulbound items or achievements too. A completely optional interaction.
-
Maybe you find someone who races you on a Crimson Wastes Track?
-
Or even someone who says they will give you heaps more rewards than you would have gotten if you take him down in a Battle Royale.
The possibilities are truly endless.
