We are a team of explorers or seeking a new home ( explaining the multiplayer part in sanctum mesa) and our spaceship crashes into a planet called illuvium. But some kind of event triggers the exctinction of illuvials (explaining the leviathans). So we decided to spread across the planet and try to capture as many flora and fauna from the planet to save them and maybe relocate them.
And with the help of our technology we can stabilise the planet for our runs.
