I've seen a few complain posts about the increasing scarcity of Illuviums and how important the first Illuviums are.
I don't really have an opinion here, but had the following thought.
Let's compare Illuvium to the card game Yu-Gi-Oh for a second, where every now and then suddenly an incredible old card becomes meta.
As this card hasn't seen any play until then, it hasn't gotten any reprints yet.
So of course, prices explode due to a demand shock until it sees a reprint.
Back to Illuvium, at the stage where let's say 90% of the one area's Illuviums become uncatchable we could have reprint(rebirth) events.
Where over one week, each day a rather small batch of all "extinct" Illuviums (per area) will be added to the pool again.
So everybody can go back to area X and hunt for those, while the last non-extinct but obviously very rare ones also may spawn.
BUT HERE'S THE CATCH.
With each rebirth the maximum additional stats achievable by each Illuvium is reduced by 20% (see screenshot reference). With a max reborn amount of 3 times.
With the stats reduction and a to the active playerbase adjusted "reprint" count, a good balance between long-term availability and positive long-term price appreciation may should be in.
If we make the rebirth event an every 6 month thing for the specific area, then that alone is an 1.5 years extension to availability.
