I'd like to propose a different look at master shards. I'd like to draw comparisson with pity timers in other games. Example: Hearthstone is guaranteed to give you at least 1 legendary card in 40 packs.
Here's what I have in mind.
- Master shards are not tradable. So not NFTs or non-tranferable NFTs.
- Master shards have tiers. A master shard can only capture an illuvial that is equal or bellow its tier.
- You get a master shard of a specific tier after failing to capture 100(subject to change) illuvials of that tier using a shard that's that tier or above.
What this accomplishes:
- It prevents farming of shard by intentionally using lower tier shards on illuvials.
- It adds a pity timer that's not gameable.
- Breaking 100(still subject to change) T5 shards should not be cause to concern in giving a single T5 master shard. You're basically buying it at that point.
P.S. Master shards in their current form totaly elliminate the bonding curve.
