I consider myself part of the true demographic of Illuvium. Working dad, oldschool pokemon lover/player eager to relive the old gaming days. And now I've got a few bucks to spend on whatever gaming fun I choose.
My initial reaction when trying to get into the groove of catching my first illuvials after the tutorial was pure frustration. I am not a good shooter player. I felt the thrill of seeing a Dash of all things and then not even being able to catch it and lose the battle... but, I played a bit more. Learned a bit more. Upgraded to Stage 2 gear, caught a couple stronger Tier 0s. And then it happened. That OMG moment of pure thrill when I started to get the hang of hunting. I caught my first Rai. He looks so awesome. A level 7 among level 1s and 2s. Does it make that big of a difference overall? I have no idea. But I was excited, and I felt those old pokemon rush vibes flood back. I was hooked.
Anyway, I say all that to say this. When I caught that Rai. He became my buddy. The Pikachu to my Ash. And the only thing missing from bringing that bond through to a completely perfect "new beginning" for us as travel buddies through the world of Illuvium was for him to have a proper name. A new name for my new friend. Through all the panels and inventory screens I want to readily identify him as "MY Rai". He's not just any old Rai. I have 3 of them now... but he was my FIRST Rai. The one I want to evolve and grow when I utilize fusion for the first time. The one I want to focus on leveling up. The one I will take screenshots of and share my excitement with in the game world.
Names my friends. We need to give our Illuvials names.
