Having a cut off for set 1 where nobody can ever catch a set 1 illuvial again once they’ve all been caught could be very limiting in the future.

The original set will be the most important set and future players will want to capture set 1 illuvials, not just variations of them.

I understand the thought process behind having a cut off, given it was designed off the back of Axie’s supply dynamics, but I propose that there will always be set 1 illuvials available in the future, albeit at a reduced minimum rate at the bottom of the bonding curve. I.e it flattens to a specific minimum capture rate.

This rate will not materially impact the value of rare set 1 illuvials already caught, but doesn’t gate the original set behind an illuvidex paywall, bringing more people into the ecosystem.

Put it this way. If when Pokémon go came out you could only catch set 1 for 12 months and then it was variations of set 1 and set 2, I wouldn’t have played. So that would at least one person lost to the ecosystem.
