#Illuvial Staking in IZ Buildings

I'd like to gather the community's thoughts on the concept of illuvial staking in IZ buildings and explore any innovative ideas for its implementation.

Illuvial staking could introduce an interesting additional layer to optimize land plot profitability.

One suggestion, proposed by @young tinsel, involves assigning specific illuvials to provide bonus percentages to certain buildings. For instance, having a shock illuvial like squizz staked in power plants could enhance their efficiency.

Another idea from @rich thicket is to introduce a new building where players could stake illuvials, providing different types of overall bonuses for games outside of IZ.

I think that adding one slot for illuvial staking per building level might be cool. This would either increase the production bonus sightly or decrease the time for completing tasks. These bonuses could vary, e.g. if an illuvial's base affinity matches the landplot region, it could offer an additional bonus %.

What do you guys think? I'm looking forward to your ideas!

Hmmm… one thing is that illuvials will be super plentiful. Staking implies removing a unit from the whole… thereby reducing the supply and giving reward for doing so. But illuvials will be so plentiful and needed for their utility in arena and future games. What would be the benefit of staking them other than bonuses?

If there were some staking system implemented you’d think there would be a value per illuvial. Like a t5s3 illuvial will have way more staking value than a t1s1 for example.

But still… why would we take away the utility of illuvials by staking them? And if u are still able to use it while it’s staked, is it really staked?

"plentiful" - adjective. Existing in great quantity or ample supply.

I fail to grasp your logic, if you say illuvials will be "super plentiful" then what's the problem of having a few staked for bonuses on IZ?

This is literally the opposite of taking away utility from the illuvials, this would be something that would add to the illuvial value proposition.

And yes I can easily see that if there are no specifics to the building's staking mechanism the higher tier illuvials would grant higher bonuses naturally.

is this like the gym idea

# wicked pine is this like the gym idea

the gym idea talks about training illuvials not staking them to a building, but I understand your statement as the illuvials would be technically staked when they are training

i haven't give it much thought yet.
But basically you can stake (with lock up period like ilv staking) a water illuvial and it unlocks bonuses like catching rate of water illuvials, scanning success of biodata based on water etc.
A higher tier illuvial would increase the bonus

Imagine you have a slot "increase catchrate"
If you lock up a t0 illuvial with water affinity you unlock +1% success on catching water affinity illuvials in OW
If you put in a t5 illuvial with water affinity, you unlock +10% success on catching water affinity illuvials in OW

you could give bonuses to other games aswell, is it in just some special modes or in general in that game.

I would probably make it the same for all tiers of landplots, including f2p. No cost attached whatsoever.
So it's like the first building, every ranger in the illuvium ecosystem is interested in building it and might download Zero to play it casually even if it is just an f2p plot

Since you guys mentioned the gym idea take a look at what staking in the gym could look like:

By introducing illuvial staking we would be able to have some illuvials teaching on each gym and giving XP bonuses to their corresponding illuvial lines and synergies with 3 of the same class/affinity. This bonus could be 5% for each illuvial. For a building with 6 levels it would allow to stake 6 illuvials. Repeated illuvials wouldn't give additional bonuses.

Here’s an example of the bonuses for a lvl 6 gym with an atlas, axon, axodon, carablu, caradulo and a cardulox staked in it.

  • 15% bonus to axolot illuvial line.
  • 15% bonus to water buffalo illuvial line.
  • 10% (5% + 5%) bonus to water illuvials.
  • 10% (5% + 5%) bonus to bullwark illuvials.
So if a ranger wanted to train a caradulo in this gym it would be gaining a 35% XP bonus.

Noting the 5% bonus for class/affinities would require a minimum of 3 illuvials staked matching that same base class/affinity. This concept could also extend to composite affinities/classes, but would only require 2 illuvials, just like in the arena.

For example, a gym with a rypter, rypterus, ryplance, carablu, caradulo and a cardulox. This would equate to 4 toxic illuvials.

  • 15% bonus to sea scorpion illuvial line.
  • 15% bonus to water buffalo illuvial line.
  • 10% (5% + 5%) bonus to water illuvials.
  • 5% bonus to bullwark illuvials.
  • 5% bonus to fighter illuvials.
  • 10% (5% + 5%) bonus to toxic illuvials.
So if a ranger wanted to train a caradulo in this gym it would be gaining a 40% XP bonus.

what about burning them, instead of staking? maybe its against the lore

# vocal tapir I mean the feel of it… not the system

would be really nice to know, not sure we wana do a redundant system or that you can stack the bonuses to high.
like if for example collection rewards are exactly that, i would let that perk to beyond, because it's a strong incentive.
Always thought beyond is beyond and it wouldn't have direct effects on gameplay

I do like combining it with the gym better… one building for all the potential utility

i think its more profitable for beyond. since it will be harder to complete collections. for lands it would only boost land price. if it goes to beyond its great for all the eccosystem, but im not sure how broken the bonuses might be.

# vocal tapir I do like combining it with the gym better… one building for all the potential u...

my first intention with gyms was more of a simple element sink + fuel yield. So high tiers keep the flexibility to focus on fuel as low tiers have the flexibility to focus on BP's.
And then @slim sable happened 😛

But it could basically be

  • 1 building for bonuses in many different games in the Illuvium ecosystem
  • you can stack illuvials in different IZ buildings to increase the effect each building has just purely for Zero.

i like the staking idea, im still not sure what utility can be given to staked illuvials

slim sable

not to mention that this would bring illuvials to the center of IZ, one of the core premises of the illuvium ecosystem which is to have our game assets be crucial to every game.

i want lands to be able to craft the karts for our future kart racing game (im sorry this is so random and off topic)

what they will produce is the fuel that will make you be able to build your kart in the kart game

So to clear things up. We are going to wander in overworld kidnapping these fellas one by one, but not before we beat the sh*t out of them. Then make them fight each other, or enslave them to work in our facilities. Gotta love Pokémon 😂

#

I like the idea, it gives value to things found in overworld, thus making overworld a little bit more dependant in Zero, which is what I think we need.

#

One thing I like about stacking stages of illuvials in order to increase bonus is that it also incentivizes overworld play. I’d also suggest incorporate the IVs as part of the equation. That way it encourages continued gameplay and not just stopping at one capture but ppl would wanna keep getting better iv illuvials cuz they b stronger.

#

Bonus should be big enough to make it worth it to grind for better iv

vocal tapir
#

Individual values… you know. Each illuvial caught will have its own strength level

#

So a weak atlas wouldn’t stake/work as well as one with perfect ivs

#

So the bottom lynx would yield less than the top one

#

Incentivize catching good or perfect iv illuvials especially if the bonus is worth it

rich thicket
#

for sure an interesting input to think about

IVs are a whole new world. I spent hours catching Pokémon with good IV

could easily be like score of 20 is the 100% of the illuvial buff, score of 10 50% and score of 30 150%

Loving the conversation here! I'll add just a few thoughts.

TLDR - "illuvial staking" can include building production buffs AND training benefits for the illuvial when the right combination is achieved (alphie at a hydro pump station, or squizz at a power station). This thought is in addition to the Gym/dojo - some illuvials get better training on the job!

I don't know the lore (obviously) but I don't just see illuvials as weapons or shields. I see them as potentially contributing members of a community. Each with a different set of skills/attributes that can be a great benefit when placed in the right situation.

An alphie pumping away at a hydro plant, a squizz contributing to a power station, a ramphy melting carbon for crypton at a rft. These are examples of how illuvials can benefit production, and these can also be how they "train". These IZ based "jobs/staking" also strengthen an illuvial skillsets through repetition (wax on wax off).

I love the gym/dojo idea. I think the concept around how an illuvial "trains" can be slightly expanded to include the IZ building tasks/staking.

IV idea is also another depth to the game that I endorse further conversation around.

Side note - All these conversations about creating an even more dynamic world that engenders versatility in the potential implementation of the main IP reminds me of how exciting this journey/experiment is.

I hate to put a wet blanket on this but if this involves any development expect that this only gets worked on post OB (and probably after some fixes). I would suggest to coordinate with Labs on the feasibility and scope required to enable any type of NFT staking.

That being said, Im very keen for this. Theres a lot of possibilities to this not just for land or illuvials. This can open up to all future games that has NFTs involved as well.
