. ************************ UPDATED 23 April 24 ******************************** Following on from the overwhelmingly positive response to the feedback-ideas post made a few days ago https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1228121146902184037, I have compiled what I think are the most compelling ideas around having Training Gyms in ILZ. I believe there is something in it for all Illuvium participants and it adds to the "Hook" that @hollow viper talks about when linking activities across Illuvium games. Some of the finer details about costing etc. are not complete as it requires input from the Illuvium team.

Please have a read through, let me know if there is anything you believe is missing. Appreciate your time and consideration.

I don't think it's necessary to have all the building specifics in the IIP. All of those are subject to balancing.
A more broad definition can be easier to approve. And the team can iron out the specifics so it fits in the overall design of the game.

KISS: "A building in which users can train illuvials"
A discussion can be held on the following topics:

  • Does it use fuel?
  • Can it be used by free users? If yes is it only for T0 illuvials?
  • Can you have multiple ones?
  • What time should it take to level up an illuvial in comparisson to overworld runs?

But the end say should be in the team's hands. Micromanaging is counterproductive. The team will move faster with less constrains.
Our feedback can/will be taken into account regardless if it's in an IIP or not.

I think you wrote that the wrong way around 😛 The IMC should get somewhat vague proposals so that the team can specify it for the game.
i.e. Make a building that allows the player to train illuvials and grant XP to the trained ones.

Then add "potential" suggestions:
Land tier experience boost.
Gym needs to be constantly active for the illuvials to gain XP
... etc.

But suggestions should be discussed with the community, and probably should be done in #1020759212172775464 instead.

"OW P2E players can use gyms for their illuvials at a gym set fuel cost Eg-1fuel per illuvial per 10 levels or per week. Passive XP growth has no cap."
Statements like these are rather specific, and probably should be balanced by the team. Also, this specifically wasn't agreed upon by the community right? So leaving stuff like this out would be preferred.

One of Community council should probably help rewrite this and re-post it.

Anyways, back when i was in ICC, it was all about vagueness in specifics but giving a concrete idea of what the community wants.

Well I'm a little confused whether I need to add more specificity or less... I used the figures in the proposal mostly as an example to convey what I want it to achieve and not to be set in stone at this stage. I want it to be balanced otherwise it wouldn't work long term.

I really like this idea.
I would like to see only 1 gym per t lv max.
Ie t1 one gym, t2 2 gyms ect
Or
1 gym per plot max but lvl of the gym building is capped per plot.
Ie t1 gym goes to lvl 4 max but t4 goes to lvl 10.
Having another building to produce food and potions to help to lvl the illuvials could add a resource sink for plant materials from overworld and make the games more connected.

What this is is a suggestion to make a gym. We can't with out pleb minds decide how to do the specifics. I'm not comfortable with community deciding balancing for 1 building out of 50. And enforcing it with governance process. This would 99% get revisited over and over again in governance each time balancing is needed. So it's best to ommit such stuff from governance.

What would stop otherwise people from pointing out at a small detail that is a bit different and saying the team is not following what the DAO wants.

Everyone is free and encouraged to give feedback, ideas and suggestions. Team is listening, we saw that with both Areana and Overworld. We don't have to "force our way" with governance.
So all of the specifics can still be swayed by the community without the need for details in the IIP.

I think this is one of those cases where common sense should prevail. You want to provide a detailed overview of the proposal and its objectives, rather than focusing on specific details.

"we want a building that allows people to train Illuvials". would be preferred over: "we want a training building with area 4x4 that has 9 stages to be added to the game."

Thumbs upping because I want an Illuvial training gym. As to all the details I didn't read through all of them tbh. I think the team knows more about balancing a game properly than I do.
