#EXPENSIVE Overworld Stage (250$+) for Whales: Discussion

Illuvium could really benefit from introducing a new stage that's priced quite high, ranging from $250 to $1,000, to attract whales. Let's be real, the crypto community is overflowing with wealth, and the streaming community thrives on high stakes streams. This could also lead to a HUGE revenue increase for the DAO. With all this in mind, it's crucial for both the community and the team to figure out how to integrate this in a way that's SUSTAINABLE and doesn't impact the free-to-play and regular cost stages negatively. Perhaps a "Gold Stage" could be introduced, where the entry costs are steep, but all the illuvials captured there are gold (or some other unique holo variant).

Not exactly sure of the best way to integrate this, and this thread could serve as a great platform for discussing how to do it properly. There might be some pushback from the community due to the stigma around making assets expensive, but it's similar to parts of the game being free. If there's no space for whales to play, they just won't come, and the Leviathan might not be simple or attractive enough for whales to dive in. A Stage 3 priced at $50-$100 might not be enticing enough either. It would be much simpler and more appealing for a whale to drop $400 on an OW run and potentially find a $10,000 illuvial on stream—or, even better, miss the capture. 😉

Rough example :
(I understand some of these assumptions are wrong but you will get the right idea)

Right now if you assume a Stage 3 run costs $100, its likely the rarest illuvial will be worth around 10x that around $1,000 and lets say an average Stage 3 illuvial is 1/10th that at $10.

Now Imagine a $500 Stage, and with a $5000 rarest illuvial, and the average illuvial at $50. With more $50 and $5,000 illuvials trading on the dex, the DAO will garner a MASSIVE revenue boost.

one detail i left out in the thread is i did not mean to imply that the new expensive stage 4 would yield “better” stat illuvials, instead the only advantage stage 4 would have over stage 3 is a new skin that would enable flex value and a new economy of illuvials at a higher price…hence why i dont think this would affect the sustainability or competitiveness of the game at all, and instead just provides a stage for whales to spend lots of money in

I like idea for this more expensive rounds like buying casino slot bonus round where holo/dark holo in the round is sure but you need to find it and capure it. Price can be 100x for the normal round

yea thats a decent idea, but i fear that if we mess with the stage 1-3 illuvials, people will get very upset, which is why i still think the best route is create a NEW illuvial skin/holo line

I have a feeling stage 3 will suffice. You can get everything you need in 1 and 2 it just takes longer. Stage 3 has a high cost compared to returns. It is a quick way to get higher tier items. Good for whales or sponsored runs. Plus I am assuming you would need the best gear and items to even catch the illuvals.

i love giving whales ways to offer higher risk/return
we can see how they like playing crypto valley, a very expensive gacha ponzi flywheel
my only concern, the bigger the whale the less likely they want to spend time actually playing OW

As a content creator I love this idea but not sure how it impacts the rest of the economy

Not a fan of different skins for Illuvials with how fast paced Illuvium Arena is. Would be quite frustrating trying to figure out which illuvial is which with different skins and the limited amount of time we have to play.

then maybe a new line of illuvials needs to be created for an ultra expensive stage idk

i also think the skins in the arena wouldnt be that big of a deal because they would be generally rare, and maybe that advantage is warranted for the high price of these illuvials
