Good Job on the new OW trailer first of all.

Watching it leads me to think it would be fun in the long run to add more elements of gameplay by creating a weapon system to strategize how and what you will use to increase your chance of catching an illuvial based on the type of the illuvial.
Instead of simply upgrading the shooting weapon level, we could add a combo of different weapons to strategize your combo to enhance the chance of catching.

A few ideas/examples:
Example 1, a specialized weapon A could glue the illuvials for a short period. Then you switch to your main weapon B to do the most damage. Or you use B first and then use A and switch back to B. Players get to experiment with different combos to make the most effective combo for themselves or for different illuvials. Adding different types of weapons will complicate the combo even further.

Example 2, alternative to the combo system, we can create different weapons by adding different stats to the weapon, via embedding “gems” with different stats upfront, and we choose which weapons to take to the OW. The gem can have a chance of stun, or slowing down, or bleeding, etc. If a player wants to catch water element illuvial, then they can create this weapon that’s supposed to be good for that certain type of illuvial and take it to the OW.

The two examples focus on two different types of gameplay, E1 focuses on action gameplay during the hunt, and E2 is more of strategy gameplay before the hunt.

This is a side comment related to weapons but not to this specific feedback. To me the gun still feels like the least satisfying part of Illuvium. I’m hoping that crafting and upgrading progress to it feeling more powerful. But in both playing in the overworld and watching the video last night. It just feels limp. Especially if we’re looking to do an FPS in the future, the gunplay should feel stronger IMO.

After the premier of the video Andrei was answering questions in voice and said there was a system loosely similar to what you have mentioned here 😉

I think we really need to get more utility out of the illuvials themselves by weaponising them.
Having them join your hunting party and using them as a weapon would be much more involving and satisfying.
The end goal being able to mount them and attack together. Next level.
Riding Rhampyre Game Of Thrones style and raining fire on other wild fleeing illuvials fire fire fire
