Implementation of tutorial and/or puzzles for arena to help addition of new players to auto battlers. This came from me being very green and having a steep learning curve but needed to watch videos outside of the game.
My idea comes from my experience of chess puzzles and FIFA tutorials.
I know that tutorial are being developed but I think there would be good to have puzzles on the side for after the tutorial.

Chess puzzles that adapt to the level that you are at, these will be harder to develop but could have different tactics and strategies. This could take a while to flesh out but could continue and bank up.

FIFA tutorial I didn't get a chance to do for years after playing. When I had the chance it took a while but it improved my games more than I ever thought by just breaking each thing down. But then making them more complex as you go. (Obviously that's what a tutorial is about but it was different).

Illuvium could do this by giving you limited team then breaking down to
Position of each class,
Exchanging illuvial
Adding to synergies
Moving teams
Augments implications

I like the idea of a 'puzzle to solve'.

For example your opponent has a board set. A kukkaraph, ranger and maybe 3 bulwarks.

You have 7 illuvials in hand and a set amount of mastery points. Then the puzzle gives u a hint or something and u try set it up to win the fight

I know tutorials are coming and you mentioned it as well. I just wanna reiterate the need for a much more granual tutorial sequence. For example, the latest explainer video from Steven is great, but the weapons get a 1-line mention in it, basically saying there are 450 different weapons in the game.

For a new player it's a WTF moment. Like, how do you even make sense of 450 different kinds of weapons? How do you choose which ones you wanna include in your team? How do they alter game play? Etc.

And there is not even an easily accessible guide for this. Details like these can be a turnoff for new players and make them choose a different game instead, one that they can understand.

Puzzles could be a good addition to tutorials, making what they learned more sticky.

I think a fantastic tutorial is a definite must. Something interactive like you are talking would be good.

My husband played Arena for the first time over Christmas. I sat quiet to watch because I wanted to see what happened. He easily took out the first few rounds by just placing the Illuvials he thought looked coolest but then when it got tougher he was lost. I helped explain things and gave him a deck to try out PVP.

I asked what he thought and his comment was that he didn't really understand what he was doing. So he went looking on YT. His response to that was, "There are so many videos! I don't know how to find the good ones without you telling me. I wouldn't take the time for this if you weren't involved. I would instead find a game that has a tutorial."

I think a lack of in game tutorial is really hurting us and if I am honest, even though it would have held up being released to Epic, I wish we would have waited for it to be there.
