Just a real brief idea for arena.
When the legendary augment cards are up for selection, what if there was a card that was face down that randomly appeared.
On this card would be extra mastery points. The number of extra points could be random so you might end up with an extra 5 points or you could get an extra 50, for example.
Sort of like a wild card.

I like the idea of being able to forfeit bid coins for mastery points. But having wild variety is maybe a bit too much. But getting like 5 mastery points per coin seems reasonable. This might allow some aggressive strategies.

I was more thinking it could be like 3 possible amounts. 5, 25 or 50. If you bid your augment coins and win then you will get whatever is on that face down card.
