We should introduce an exchange system for NFTs. Ownership is worth much more if you can exchange the goods.
For example, it would be a much better experience if you could swap the Illuvitars with each other.
What speaks against Illuvium integrating this? Why wait for a third party solution that would be significantly less secure?

I believe they don't want to make this because there is no return
a better quality product will get us more return
There could be a fee for using the platform.
I'm just afraid blockchain team is busy with other stuff now
We don't want to delay game launch
Totally agree, more of a maybe in the future idea.
You’re probably right, but I hate how this gets thrown around. Any proposal to improve the product is going to take time and resources.
We shouldn’t be discouraged anyone from proposing ideas because it could delay the game.
Not specifically calling out you I’m just saying in general. A good idea is a good idea. If the idea is good enough the team will figure it out.
True
IMX wasn't opposed to it. They just didn't say that they would make it themselves. Probably going to have to be an initiative by the community 🙂
I must add, i have no clue how IMX operates. Still haven't read through their overview of fees page either
opensea has Deals
x2y2 has Private Sale
it is safer for OTC deals using a marketplace feature, instead of "i send you eth, you send me nft" or using a middleperson.
it is possible to do this, but you have to bridge the NFTs to L1 first
we are relying on IMX, and as we know, it can take awhile to implement new features
OS said they would support IMX like 2 years ago 😅. I also think they want to trade NFT for NFT. If you just want ETH, you can list on Illuvidex
This would be beneficial to have in order to make trades amongst friends & others where you don't need to worry about "trust me bro"
The downside: secondary sales on the market will see a huge drop off.... as a DAO would we want that?
Of course third parties can create the option as well which will pull the transactions away from us / the Illuvium platforms... I find it would be better to keep as many "useful" and "widely utilized tools" in house as much as possible. But of course, dev time & money are the largest factors/concerns
There could be an associated fee. I think if people are trading big ticket items like land they would be willing to pay a couple dollars to not have to trust any bros.
Exactly. It doesn't have to be free. It would be a service afterall. Paying a fee makes sense.
It's not in the financial interest of imx and the dao to allow people to exchange items without fees. So I guess no one is rushing to make it.
