I see so much opportunity for OW as an MMO(RPG). Adding some daily, weekly, monthly, tiered, epic quests would be an excellent addition to the game. Add a terminal in Sanctum Mesa. Making some of them repeatable would promote in-game farming. Quest junkies and completionists like myself would spend all day just farming repeatable quests (and could burn sILV2 doing it, hint hint) Quests would promote longer in-game play, increasing in-game market sales, extra revenue from those inpatient or lazy players, increased income and in-turn revdivs to farmers and crafters. Rewards would be based on the difficulty to complete. Player will feel more rewarded, and decrease the this grinding sucks, mindset

IMHO, this would create an entirely new and positive experience. Even Kieran said on a stream that he is just going to buy hi boots and jetpack off the market because the grind sucks so bad. There are people out there who would play all day and contribute to the revenue eco-system in general if the experience wasn't so mind numbing. Yes, the world is amazing an gorgeous to explore, but at some point, you just get sick of doing it because it's so monotonous.

Quest Ideas: Run xx Kilometers, Perform an xx km high boost jump, harvest xx plants, harvest xx creatures, capture xx Illuvials (names, types, tiers, etc.), harvest mining nodes, obtain xx Osvium, etc., uncover % of map, travel to x,y,x and do 1,2,3 would even i crease fuel sales and usage

Rewards: Various temporary buffs, Crafting resources like 10x Osvium (nothing like adding a little bonus to an already painstaking grind), small amounts of fuels or Zero elements, +xp for whatever Illuvial TEAM you have equiped, there are so many different things

as a fan of MMORPG, i like questing. WoW is heavily time gated and introduce so much grinding.

#

somehow, WoW can make the grind so much enjoyable. i did a lot of grinding in Ragnarok Online and it was painful

#

it's just kill 100000 monsters, spent the day, and lost the exp from dying

If the economy functions as was planned, the grind is supposed to get us Illuvials and resources to sell on the market place. This would be better than any rewards handed out by the DAO for playing.

Of course, if we start selling packs etc we will then need to offer rewards to get people to play Overworld.

Pretty soon we would be needing to offer rewards to get people to play anything rather than just putting in the functioning economy game Illuvium first set out to be.

@cinder aurora I agree a questing system like you mentioned would be a gret addition.

Afaik Its something that is on the teams agenda.
Questing is planned to be implemented along with illuvials roaming the environment and Lore driven play style.

Call it a badly timed or epiphany, but IMHO packs are already being sold. D1sks are just that except they come with 1 equiped illuvial + 1 ally). Packs though, contain cards. Cards go in boxes, and every card game in the world fits into the exact same "box" exact same box as every other one. I get why Kieran is against the word "deck"

I may be a little more cynical (or bipolar manic this week) but isn't all just semantics anyway?

beyond D1sks cannot be used in the overworld. Only battleboard skins, drone skins and emotes you get from beyond rewards.

I know "there is a difference" .. I was just being a little snarky last night. I'll delete that comment if you'd like.
