Summary:
This proposal seeks to get a spectator mode for arena custom match
The Spectator mode is very important for the growth, for the visibility it can provide, especially with the streaming during competition.
these streams on platforms like twitch, or youtube (for the quality and the possibility to put delays for the fairness of the match) will eventually turn into video which will last and be watched giving exposure.
Without the spectator mode, we can't really capitalize on this momentum because it is more difficult / not possible to get live commentary, then worse experience for the viewers compare to what we could have
Objective:
The primary objective of this proposal is to get the development as quickly as possible of this feature to capitalize on the momentum we will have in the upcoming month.
better streams -> better videos -> more exposure
Rationale:
The required part of the team wich would be deployed to develop this will have an impact, that s sure, but we can clearly say that between Beta 3 an Open beta is the perfect window and that's where more and more people will be exposed to video of illuvium on differents platform.
The team will need to evaluate how much time / people would be needed, and decide how to make it, we don t need something very nice as we will need in OB or after.
it can be minimalist in the beginning, and allocate more ressources later to make something better
Implementation:
As said above, I do think the best window is between PB3 and OB
Use Case:
Give a better experience to the viewer of all the tournaments we plan to make.
More visibility for illuvium streams, video, shorts …
