Can this be gamed somehow and how are we protected from someone gaming the system? Or are we just happy to give everyone one free D1sk?

It's not really possible to game it unless someone creates a ton of verified Discord accounts, which is at the very least impractical. But, even if someone did find a way to game it and spam wallets, Illuvitars is a low overhead product that benefits from sales quantity. Even at 50% off if people feel the desire to spam buy, the DAO makes a ton of money. That's my hot take anyways, but steps are being taken to limit it to one free BOGO per linked account.

I don’t really have much to say except this seems to be an almost perfect way to bring people into the ecosystem as long as the system can’t be games like @sly nymph but I’m fairly certain we can take care of that for the most part

We have been testing the affiliate program since the 1st of August and it's generated 44K sales. We have had some tracking issues that we are looking to address, though, which will affect those numbers. The issue with the affiliate program is that it mainly promotes more sales within our ecosystem. Many of the influencers are core illuvium community members and so are their audience.

This promotion is about bringing in fresh customers that haven't been exposed to Illuvium, or Beyond. Which I think is our best path to increased revenues in Beyond until the games are out.

Another thing to consider is the majority of that revenue has come from a single platform, which you could argue deserves it given the experience that they offer but again, that's moreso increasing customer spend, not creating new users

Maybe give out merch discount codes as well in the pack. It sounds like a bonus, but we might drive some revenue through the merch store as well.

Another question of might be a little concern:
After Wave 1 we were unhappy with the ratio of Megas to Standards D1SKs. At the moment in Wave 2 that ratio is decent. But with this promotion and giving away 1+1 Megas at the same rate as Standards, we will once again come closer to the ratio we were unhappy with before.

Maybe we don't care about that and we are okay with that as long as we bring in new people and boost up sales. But maybe something to think about...
