Very simple.

The councils need to run a transparent board so that it's clear what the priorities of each council and member is focused on (Trello, notion, airtable or something of the sort) So the community can see but not edit.

We need more transparency.

Each item should be tagged with a leading council and all the members working on the priority.

It seems the council is deciding a lot in private, committing to ideas with minimal feedback on possible solutions and then trying to push them through.

I don't think this should be formalized but I think the community would appreciate this.

  1. Awareness of Community Sentiment
  2. Define the problems and priorities
  3. Community feedback on problems and priorities (missing)
  4. Possible solutions defined
  5. Community Feedback on solutions (missing)
  6. Iteration
  7. Voting in Governance-ideas

Right now it's

  1. Awareness of Community Sentiment
  2. Voting in Governance-ideas

I would appreciate the step back to include community in giving feedback. But i don't really see that happening. ("Too much work")

I also Like the transpericy thing you mentioned in the beginning. So you See really who is working on what.
But probably also won't be implemented (NDA/ all councils help out in whatever work has to be done right now.)
But lets See 🙂

Hey ZZ. Appreciate the feedback. I understand the desire for more transparency. I agree this is a gap this epoch where CSC is much closer to the community and the other councils are one level removed and working on the specific items in their area of responsibility.

To make sure I understand the focal points, have you checked the council minutes that are released? We have a running list in nearly every Strategy Subcouncil meeting including what is on tap for the future meetings (which are the current priority topics).

I’m curious how far you think this level of detail would get to assist the community with the transparency requested.

For sure this could be presented differently (and more detailed) in a project mgmt board of some kind. I see specifically two focus areas that could be enhanced with ease of visualization and ability to receive feedback tied to topics with a bit more robust system.

There was no feedback from the community that the problem was correctly identified based on sentiment, and that multiple solutions where considered/vetted with feedback on any.

I updated the flow

  1. Awareness of Community Sentiment
  2. Define the problems and priorities
  3. Community feedback on problems and priorities (missing)
  4. Possible solutions defined
  5. Community Feedback on solutions (missing)
  6. Iteration
  7. Voting in Governance-ideas

While I understand that a process for this type of work flow is desired I'm worried that this is too stringent.

One issue I see is that if the council will just wait for the community to instigate this we miss out on issues that councils can initiate on its own. And a lot of the issues this epoch are topics which the community may not be focused or not interested but the dao requires.

Another thing is in the current process a lot of this is covered already as discussions for possible solutions and iterations has happened in the threads itself
