I talked to them in their discord and they said the following:

  • they are working on a SDK for unreal5 but it's not live yet. They would build a custom solution for us in the meantime, depending on requirements.
  • no upfront costs for integrating. They would just take a cut of any wagers that take place.
  • they provide legal compliance and coverage, defi / fiat payment solutions, matchmaking / challenges/tournament functionality, and discoverability via our platform/socials if thats something we are interested in
  • They are happy to hop on a meeting or a telegram/discord group and explain more.

If it's something we think could make sense, we should test out the platform, collect some info, pull in some people from their team to ask any questions here, and then pull in the team to vet. Also, consider any competitors that might be better.

I think the intial concept of wagering on Leviathan matches was always intriguing but there are obviously hurdles in place

i don't think is a good way to gambling, because you can not control the PVP battle, maybe someone make match-fixing, it's a lot o thinks that must take in consideration, my point of view is to keep the game clean, not to enter in a "dark" niche.

I say we'd better think about how to introduce money into the ecosystem rather than gambling, attract players, and after having enough players, develop other forms of entertainment such as betting

PVP is good for a few reasons though to include the ability to take something from the other player makes it so much more thrilling. Is there any loopholes with NFTs or in-game currency?

I don't think the dao and/or the illuvium brand should officially partnering with any gambling platform to limit any regulatory or risk exposures.

But that doesn't mean that these gambling entities can't create tools for it. There tons of gambling sites for sports that aren't sanctioned or partnered so it shouldn't be an issue

Is the ETH that he means the same ETH as we know? If it's something else and specific to the game and has nothing to do with the Ethereum Blockchain I would suggest coming up with a different name. Otherwise it's just confusing.

Hey @bleak dome thanks for sharing this resource. This topic of working with 3rd party providers has been brought up to Legal and has been discussed periodically. The council is still researching if betting should be incorporated and all routes that could incorporate betting if decided that we wanted it in the brand. I'm sure there will be updates on this in the future, however it may not be resolved in this epoche as the regulatory environment is constantly shifting and Leviathan is not expected to be ready in the near future regardless.
