Simple Summary:

This proposal aims to significantly widen Illuvium Beyond’s reach and utilize the power of affiliate marketing to capture the attention of the broader Web 3 and NFT space. It will enable a simple affiliate link program that will return a portion of revenue generated through D1sk purchases to the partner that shared the affiliate link.

No brainer yes of course

I'd say a no-brainer.

I just want to add 1 example that has me concerned. In GU there is an affiliate way to sell packs/cards.
So there are people who register 1 account and generate the affiliate link. Then they use another account with the link to farm up the proceeds of the affiliate marketing. This "steals" from the DAO. And prevention is hard to accomplish.

As far as I understand, everything is ready for this to be implemented right away, but only using links.

Is there any chance we can also implement something similar to Illuvium store where you can type in the code and support someone that way. Or is that not the point here?

The marketing team will reach out to current major Illuvium supporters and other entities that they have built a relationship with in the past. Based on their reach and additional metrics, the team will create suitable terms before giving an affiliate link to the partner.

Amazing proposal and went through community sentiment while i was asleep - 😴

My only concern I will share is the type of links, since this can open the doors to potential malicious behavior... everyone in web3 knows to only click and trust specific links.

What will be the plan for Illuvium in regards to having a public repository of TRUSTED PARTNERS? Is this planned to be posted on the illuvidex/illuvium.io somewhere?

Quick question... why for Beyond only and not simply for any future promotions? because i believe we will need Content creators' help for more than just Beyond in the future so why not just pack it in one proposal?

Just looking for ways for you to be able to be more agile in the development of that project without having to require a vote at each step which slows down the process and adds you extra work.

# gilded gorge Ok will that process just be internal or will it require an IIP/ICCP for each "n...

There are variables that are currently unkown as the other products are not out.

I'm personally ok taking the slow and steady approach and based on the current proposal, all we'd require is an ICCP to extend this current proposal to the other products when they are ready and we have completely clear understanding of all the unkown variables that we face currently.

It's not going to be an inefficient process with the way we are going about it.

I must admit speed was important here too. If we overly pack something like this there becomes an increasingly higher chance of there being holes in it the community disagrees with. Since Illuvium Beyond is so close, making it tight and efficient is better for the speedy output in this instance

Ok fair enough, thank you for your answers @fast gyro and @kindred cloak . In the end i trust you guys to do it right and appreciate you taking the time to explain to me your decisions. I was legit asking to inform myself a bit more about the process of IIPs etc.

Overall good proposal and i 300% support this 🙂

# kindred cloak I'll speak to the team regarding this solution but as the use of links is only a...

Thanks TSG - I am wary of hearing stories of how someone got scammed by clicking a link they thought they could trust, that is my only reservation

Having the list can be as simple as adding it into #🔗〕helpful-links section of discord and have it in a repository called "affiliate links" and just keep adding or removing them as necessary

Or even a Google doc/sheet pinned somewhere in discord...

I agree anything that will take dev time for something "temporary" is completely unnecessary, but if we get targeted by a malicious attack, the downside of that (negative content/stories floating around) heavily outweighs the benefits from the program being temporarily added.

Great and valid points there by Ricky there. Something we should for sure think about.

Also a reason why we should push for codes as soon as possible.

#

btw. is thing going for a vote at CSC today? should be, right?

Appreciate you - I do what I can Atlas_Love

And agreed, yes required to get codes ASAP!

CSC has initiated the request to get it up for voting ( @low sequoia handled this ) and then all councils have been advised of the time sensitive nature. This should be going through as quickly as people's personal lives and sleep schedules will allow

There is a little error in the text on the start of 2nd page where it should be ICCP-3 instead of ICC-P3. But that's nothing important.

@kindred cloak I could only screen the doc quickly, sorry if I missed it but I did not saw how much % of the sales are we redirect to the Affiliate program .. ?

And to all downvoters, I'm curious about why the downvotes.. ?

# kindred cloak 5% is what is planned for the Affiliate program

And is there any room for negotiations from the Affiliate partners? For instance, if a larger company like Gamestop or Ubisoft was interested to set up an affiliate link? Where their reach could be massive compared to others we have set up at the 5%... (not to get confused with Partner D1sks, jsut using them as quick examples)

Only asking since it was not very clear, but also, i trust you and the Marketing Team to always look out for the best of the DAO

kindred cloak

Those partners would not fall into this "affiliate program" and will be negotiated as a seperate rev share deal than a simple affiliate link.

I appreciate you acknowledging that we will always look out for the best of the DAO.
