#ILLUVIUM FORGE (CREATOR)

Everyone who plays Halo online knows about the Forge creator mode, where you can create maps and game modes however you want. Recently, Fortnite came out with their own version, often referred to as "UFEN," which allows you to create your own little islands with your own rules.

Illuvium is building out the "Illuvium Zoo," a collection of assets that are usable between team members to create a consistent look/vibe when creating the regions or other parts of the ecosystem like ILZ.

Considering all the cool movement mechanics, future multiplayer, and the asset zoo, it just makes sense to open up everything, at some point, to the community to be able to create our own experiences in Illuvium.

Obviously, it's far into the future and I don't know what it would look like, but some ideas could be:

  • People could create a sliding competition with obstacles
  • A gliding contest
  • A shootout game mode
  • grappling over canyons
  • Etc... so many ideas possible (especially combined with Illuvials)

Also:

  • $ILV holders get access to the builder/asset zoo.
  • $ILV holders can vote on integrating those experiences (case by case) to add to the Illuvium Universe App (an - - App that connects the whole ecosystem, including games, merch, and whatever else belongs to the IP).
  • Creators could mint the experiences and sell them on the open market.
  • Creators could set a fee for playing the experience (2% of fees go to the DAO)

This could help keep the content for the ecosystem fresh. Keeping it exciting over decades. Which would also save a lot time for DEVs.

Just thought I'd throw the idea out there for people to ponder on 😄

Ez modding has lead to some of gamings greatest hits. Counter strike, dota, Minecraft, Roblox. Hope illluvium implements something like this 👍

Exactly. Modders are free. No pressure from anyone.

Also the work that the Illuvium Team is already doing with the Asset Zoo. (https://youtu.be/VgPc9Rf2yVw) is actually crazy foresight thinking.

They only need to package it into an editor.

Imagine you go in the editor and you can choose a Region style or just a blank canvas and create whatever you want.

I'm imagining a King of the Hill game mode in Brightland Steppes.

Your goal is to be the first on top of a Mountain.

Dozens of people try to go up the hill via hundreds of Bubbles. So you have to go up leave the bubble, shoot the other players down and glide to the next bubble. Going up but trying to keep everyone else down and monitoring your energy. I think that would be a cool unique game😂

Or a Lilly pad race in an Abyssal Basin Region 😂

The possibility would be endless 🥳

# digital sky Love the idea, Custom games are big part of a lot of big brand games. I remember...

💯💪😁

That would also expand the ecosystem without taking away time from the Team and if a game mode becomes really popular the Team could then add it (after a community vote) to the main roster of games and give it a professional touch. Creators could get rewarded with an ILV bonus. So it would incentivize people to create great games to make it into the main line of games.

But even if it doesn't get added. Thanks to Blockchain technology the ability for creators to charge for their game experiences is also cool. So much fun and creative ideas possible 🥳

If I create a cool game mode I'd charge a one time 1$ fee for life long access. If a 20k play it that's 20k Dollars but if Illuvium gets really popular and 100k or even 1 Million people want to play play my experience... well you can do the math 🤣

Love this idea! I want to have the world record time on all the best fan made obstacle courses 🏃‍♂️ 💨

Haha for sure. Running, sliding and gliding through Taiga Boreal 😍 also imagine once we get plant attack mechanics how many traps we could build for an obstacle course 🤩 and once we get Illuvium Strike (FPS) then we can build Arenas for shootouts 🔫😎

Also, with each game that gets created by the community the demand for the Assets will become super dynamic.

One could create a waterworld and only Rangers with water based Illuvials could be allowed to enter... suddenly the demand for water Illuvial goes up and changes the market behavior completely.

Additionally, we would never run out of cool content to play 🤤

I really like this idea. I see it creates an opportunity for people to make games with the ILV IP and then have them integrated if they are deemed popular and add value.

I can see it may need to be a standalone, somehow seperate, ecosystem like you describe.
I liken your idea to an illuvium version of Roblox. It's truly mind blowing where that is now from where it began.

Well, it probably falls into the Beyond category like Illuvitars. This is obviously something for Beyond 2025/26 but yeah, you're right. Roblox would be a prime example of giving the community the power to develop games within a game.

  • endless content
  • a way for community members to create their dream game with Illuvium IP
  • keeps people entertaint in between game releases from core Team
  • saves millions of dollars of development costs for the Team
  • if a game has proofed itself it can become canon content with the help of the Team
  • creates organically more demand for the Illuvium assets

And the best part is that Illuvium has been laying the groundwork for something like this since the beginning.

Their Asset Zoo to make development easier for future games was a genius move 🥳

@tardy thunder is leading the charge in drafting a proposal around this. I suggest to coordinate with him. You can see in our last minutes this was briefly discussed.

But bear in mind, this may only be implemented after open beta

Yep yep! Just wanted to align practicality of this endeavor. Carry on 😀

Agreed with this. Lets wait 1.5 years until Illuvium has solidified an IIP before dishing out assets so others can make shit-games based on Illuvium.

90% of modded games are bad or ridiculous, and if people arent sure what the main game is, you'll get bad publicity rather than good. So while I like the idea, i would be against pushing to make this happen "soon".

Im happy to see Darko mention 2025/2026 as that coincides with my expected release of assets.

(Let me clarify that this is my uneducated opinion)

Are you familiar with “Mario Maker 2”?
Could you see this idea as a game in itself?
Have it more structures, but with access to the entire asset zoo. Make it easier for anyone to build without dev experience?
Have a social aspect where others can play and rate your game

# tardy thunder Are you familiar with “Mario Maker 2”? Could you see this idea as a game in itse...

I know Mario Maker 2 (watched a bunch of creations) but never played it myself.

I got the inspiration from Halo, where you've got "Forge" where you get a Canvas (different regions of the game + one empty one) and you have have a certain amount of Assets (called objects) where you can change the texture however you want. Additionally, Halo Infinite Forge has a way to script gameplay in a non-code way -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgIxew1x12s&ab_channel=HALO

But how I would imagine it, as you said, as it's own game, BUT accessible via the** Illuvium Universe App Launcher **that has everything around the IP in it:

  • Arena
  • Overworld
  • ILV Zero
  • Illuvitars
  • Merch
  • TV Shows
  • Illuvidex
  • >>>FORGE<<<
  • Social News
  • Newsletter
  • etc...

^^^^But this deserves it's own Forum^^^^

Anyways, Illuvium Forge would need:

  • it's custom Browser (to search for content)
  • a filtering option
  • a way to tag your creations so it's easy to filter when searching (racing. FPS, etc)
  • for sure a rating system cause there'll be a lot of bad creations
  • when you look at the Forge library of different creations there needs to be a little summary about the game popping up when clicking on it + an explanation on how to play this creation/game mode

When it comes to creating experiences it needs:

  • Maps in the style of all 7 Regions + 1 empty one to choose from
  • Access to the Assets
  • Tools to reshape the Assets + Landscape
(which would be in it's first release limited simple tool, but with future upgrades more features and tools could be added to the tool box)
  • scripting like in Halo Infinite Forge - to create unique game modes

Bonus points:

  • the option to charge people for playing your experience and small fee from that entry ticket goes to the DAO (I'd like to able to charge let's say 1$ for lifetime access)
  • minting your creation and selling it other ones that want to earn with it or change it

For the first time in Halo, Forge will feature a visual scripting tool and support Bots on user-generated maps. Halo Infinite’s new node graph flow makes scripting more powerful and intuitive than ever before. Additionally, the brand-new Bot navigation tools enable every Forge map to support Bots for testing and playing your favorite creations.
