After seeing another Partnership with Fancy Studios in Dequest, I wanted to hear the opinion from others.

I hope it's not to bad and open to improvements or other opinions. 😛

IIP - Cancel Partnership with Fancy Studios

Simple Summary

The proposed IIP seeks to stop the partnerships with Fancy Studios. This is primarily due to their inactivity, unsatisfactory changes in Tokenomics and an lack of value gained from the partnership for Illuvium.

Abstract

This IIP proposes the termination of the partnership agreement with Fancy Studios.

Motivation

The current state of the partnership with Fancy Studios has nearly no to no value for Illuvium, primarily due to their lack of communication and updates to their investors, unfavorable changes in Tokenomics (Revdivs) and bad reputation within most of the community. This silence has created uncertainty among stakeholders and is a bad example for Illuvium. There is a pressing need for change to ensure that Illuvium is not anticipated with them and our reputation are protected.

Overview

The IIP aims to sever ties with Fancy Studios and disengage from any shared responsibilities and others.

Reason

The partnership with Fancy Studios, which was originally formed in hopes of growing together, has not fulfilled expectations. It has no further benefit to Illuvium other than to be associated with Fancy Bird, which might be a bad for the reputation.

As someone who invested heavily in Fancy Birds because Illuvium was associated with it, I am disappointed it there lack of communication and there is no excuse for it. If the Fancy team doesn't start communicating with the community then I agree, cut ties. The thing is we all know its a bear market and price is down and what not but at least they should do is talk to the community during this time.

Its worth noting that I dont remember there initially being a 'partnership' but moreso Kieran was publicly coming onboard their project as an advisor. Partnership or not I'd like to know how we fall on Kierans personal relationship with Fancy. If the community was for this proposal would we then also ask Kieran to sever personal ties, I don't think thats appropriate personally. Either way we should get him to weigh in on his current thoughts on the partnership and Fancy as a whole

I agree this partnership is a net negative at the moment. I think it’s important for us to limit partnerships to AAA-quality projects and that has never been the vibe Fancy has given me. With that said I also agree with Scoriox that it’s not our place to tell Kieran what he should do on a personal level, nor is it really relevant to Illuvium’s association.

I have no problem with Kieran being still their advisor or something. Of course, I also would not appreciate this, but I do not want to presume as myself or overall the DAO to decide what kieran may or may not do independently of illuvium. I'm only talking about how Illuvium stands to fancy games. Overall, it would be good to hear from the team how they feel about fancy games and how much of a partnership or mutual support exists.

Overall, I hope that at least you as a council can get more insight from the Team/Kieran and based on that make a reasonable decision.

They are also on the recent summer dequest event Illuvium is hosting

We don’t have any agreement in place with Fancy Birds. We ‘partner’ with a bunch of projects that help us with things like giveaways and quests, and in return they advertise us but there is no official partnership with terms. If the DAO wants us to exclude them from future marketing campaigns that wouldn’t be a problem
