Pokémon has copped some flack for reusing assets for subsequent games. My suggestion is that Illuvium incorporates the reuse of assets into the lore from day 1 so it doesn’t have that reused feel. For example, you could set up the existence of three types of Rhamphyres from day 1 (like the legendary birds in Pokémon) and a justification for their only being a fire version. My sense is that there is a lot of work for this to be done effectively. Shadow spots in the Illuvidex is possible but I see the downsides to this. However this may require less upfront work from the lore side of things. I’d gladly quit my job to work on solving the lore for this. 🤣

I have heard the team say they plan on this, if I am understanding your idea right. They would make a Frost Rhamphyre for example
Yes I know. My point is more about incorporating the existence of that Frost Rhamphyre into the lore. (This may already be done) But I feel like planning for this early on in the piece is important. If the lore is not done well, I feel there will be some backlash about reuse of assets. Not by me personally.
Im reasonably sure that it already makes sense law wise. Aaron got you covered.
Also any backlash to a franchise (Pokemon) putting out a title basically every year and reusing assets a couple of years in a row after the huge upfront costs and years of development... does not understand game development XD
Plus there's loads of other way more justifiable things to give Pokemon flack for haha
