Add Alpha Stamp to Illuvitars

Simple Summary
Members of the community have expressed a desire for Alpha Illuvitars to include a visual indication of the Illuvitar's Alpha status. This proposal would direct the Illuvium team to update the Illuvitars product to include an Alpha stamp as a visual element.

Overview
Alpha Illuvitars are meant to be the most exclusive Illuvitars due to their limited nature but are currently visually indistinguishable from the non-alpha Illuvitars. Adding the stamp to the Illuvitars adds value for those who are looking for exclusive collectibles in the Illuvium Universe. As a premium product it is important that users can display the exclusive and limited nature of their Alpha Illuvitars.

Implementation
A variety of potential visual indicators have been discussed, and the Illuvium team has come back with this stamp as the most favourable implementation. This stamp will be applied to all Alpha Illuvitars, including retroactively adding them to Wave 1.

Alpha stamps will appear on d1skplates.

Summary
Adding an Alpha stamp onto the Illuvitar images is a value add for those who have and will purchase Alpha Disks and increases the overall collectability of Illuvitars.

If that’s what team thinks is best, then I agree with them.

You won’t be able to see it on other platform like discord and twitter. But if you can see it ingame and in illuvidex and other official channels then it should be good.

Animation ended up not being an option so we had to go with what works best on the NFT image itself in the end. If we try to cater to every platform and their different shapes and crops it just gets really ugly really fast XD

Also, it never was about other profile pictures like discord and twitter, it was always about how it look in Illuvium.

That's fair, when you consider illuvitars like Squizz and Atlas it really would get in the way.

Nah we want to encourage people to use their illuvitars outside of illuvium. Accommodating the twitter/discord pfp format is a good idea. But if it can't be done tastefully then yeah ditch it.

yes ok this is a good solution. Can we have that alpha icon png that people can make it visible like in ghamsters picture?

One idea the Game sub-council bounced around was, to have an image editor or app where the holder of the illuvitar could position the icon where they would like.

However, this would obviously take a good amount of dev time(especially if we would add a burn and mint mechanic on chain).

This could potentially be done post launch if there is a large drive by the community.

Aside from the dev work and it being just for Illuvium ecosystem, I think it ruins the uniformity of having it one spot. When I checkout illuvitars on the illuvidex I dont want to keep looking for the "alpha logo" to determine if its an alpha or not.

Having the icon visible is the key value add. If it is placed in the bottom right it will not be visible on most social media.

Having the ability to move the alpha icon could potentially increase external sales as it would provide the ability to have it displayed in the perfect position for every illuvitar.

I personally would have bought an Alpha Dash over the regular one i currently have If I could position it on my hat or collar. I think the idea of having an additional "accessory" that you can move makes these more personal and I believe that is a major point of illuvitars.

For your second comment, there is always a search filter for "Alphas" that will make differentiation easy to see.

we 100% can release that alpha icon as png, and you do whatever you want

but being an NFT it has to lock somewhere, and I do agree that we have to have a standard place for this sort of thing

Maybe an option to chose where you want to set the Alpha tag. Like the tags on the CS GO weapons.

I agree with the idea of having a standardized location for the alpha stamp, whether it's a consistent placement for each individual Illuvitar or a uniform position across all Illuvitars. I personally lean towards having a distinct placement that is specific to each individual Illuvitar 👀

This is too much work right now. One thing people need to consider is the time to do changes. If you give us 100s of changes that don't really add anything significant then it's just going to blow out the timelines.
