#Engaging Overworld: Prioritize Creature Interaction

Can we get some creatures to move around the overworld, please? They don't necessarily have to be Illuvials; they could be other creatures that create a more dynamic environment and make the game more engaging, even for viewers. Currently, just watching streamers explore the overworld feels even more monotonous. We can introduce illuvials later to populate the overworld, but we must prioritise including animals and other creatures before Open Beta.

Also, the movement of the illuvials on the battle board needs improvement. Their current animation when they try to walk looks unpolished. Additionally, could we incorporate visual effects that depict some form of physical impact when the illuvials swing and hit each other?

I would LOOOOOOOVE animals/illuvials to be implemented in OW, and i also believe it's necessary to make Overworld fun to have more to interact with than just rocks plants and a few inoffensive morphopods.

I also believe that in previous AMAs founders did mention that as a late goal and apparently can't be done before launch because of the delays we're already facing, so now priority to what's crucial for the game to function, and later we'll see.

For the visual effects part... honestly i don't think it's necessary as it doesn't really add much to the game compared to the time required.

My very personnal opinion though is that i'd rather see the game delayed by another 6 months and have that than not having it. But i know a lot of people disagree with this and I also understand why.

100% having creatures in the overworld is the missing piece that could really make the game go mainstream. I wouldn't mind waiting a bit longer if it means getting this feature implemented. It would add so much depth and immersion, and I think it would attract a much larger audience

There is a lot to unpack here, there is more than one idea. I definitely agree (as a bunch of people would) that having more things moving in the OW would be great and that is the end goal, at least that's what the devs have said.

I do not think this has to be a priority in before open beta, the leap to PB2 OW was great and there will be more beta testing to come. Would love to see it but I rather prioritize dev time on a great PvP experience.

This x 1000. Overworld won’t be very fun until they add storylines + lore and surprises OR Illuvials/other animals to bring the world to life. No matter how good a region looks I find myself unmotivated to explore knowing it’s all just decorations and there’s no deep secrets to discover or animals hiding somewhere

One thing to note we don't want to expose story elements yet as the story has a lot of mystery to be exposed over time. These story elements will help to add life and more direction to the OW gameplay.
