#Looking for ideas on how we can increase the number of users for PB3 or Public Beta!

At the moment is so terrible, survival mode are less than 100 and OW 50 people.
Some people hardly ever play, so the actual number is much less.
I believe that expanding the number of users is very important for the success of the game.

I think it is important for P2E to make money by playing games and fun, it is difficult to increase the number of users just by playing interesting games.

My ideas are

  1. create a ranking system (OW and Arena)
  2. Weekly ILV prizes for the top 10 winners.
(Smaller prize money is fine as the number of users is small, if the number of users increases, the POOL will be expanded.)
  3. Organise monthly competitions like XBorg.

I know some people will point out that it is wrong to offer prize money when it is still in beta, but I believe that more users is what is good for illuvium, and that has to do with ILV and the treasury.

I think it's time to start thinking about investing in more users.

good influencers and others are evaluating illuvium now,and I think more and more people are interested.
I'm concerned that users will leave illuvium if this is a year or two years later.

PB3 or Q4 Public Beta release are an opportunity to increase the number of users.

The number of users has more than 3times in XBorg competitions, so there's no doubt that the prize money will increase the number of users!
Public Bata would like to see more than 1,000 people playing I hope.
If it is that, illuvium will be a success.

Looking for ideas for anything, and maybe one or two of them will become possible with the release of PB3 or Public Beta!
They have a roadmap, but they could do with a few surprises i hope.

I think the unit and play time errors need to be fixed before the ranking system.
Maybe energy damage too.

Please don't say, don't expect it.
Maybe "3. Organise monthly competitions like XBorg." This is possible i hope.

it'll be ok, there's a problem with survival in that you just dont understand what is what, cuz not much is explained, so you get to point you can't really learn or understand what is going on. No playback, even the damage visuals are wack. No one has the time and cares to be a "pro" like SJUD who broke down and analyzed what's op, douuble damage etc, as its irrelevant, as this game is nothing close to the strategy that will take place, once all is in place. We play a bit, throw up a triangle of forces to see how they work together and we go back to our lives...

finally i think the leaderboard is bugged, I played to 15 and then i played to 18 and quit, the 18 didnt register, seems only the first game is registering

I understand that if we gave out prize money as it is now, only the same people would get it.
I think it's okay to create a ranking system first and then see how it goes, after we see how many users that will increase.
My wish is to create a ranking system, money can come later What I wrote above is one of the ideas.

I actually don't think we want official tournaments this quick. honestly if anything, i even think it's laughable all of these 3rd parties trying to make so big of a deal out of PVE Survival competitions and trying to brand it like "Esports".

I'm of the opinion that we wait for a stable PvP with some sort of nice balance before we throw away our money.

Also Betas are not made for us to compete on. they are made to gather feedback so that they can bug-fix/improve the game. It's nice to see that Illuvium generates so much hype and i understand "guilds/Esports teams/Hubs" that want to show themselves established in the Illuvium Esports eco-system and ready to kick in. I just think now it's not the time and that they're wasting their resources, therefore i don't want Illuvium to make the same mistake.

I’m usually in the camp of making a ranking system as soon as possible, but that means when the game is actually out. As long as there’s a ranked system sometime soon after open beta launch all is good.

If you’re worried about 1000 people playing at open beta launch you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

I agree with the idea that we should wait for PVP.
The number of OW users could increase if this is released
I think OW is the most important thing in illuvium, so if we can succeed in that, I'll be happy too.

"2.Weekly ILV prizes for the top 10 winners."
I'm going to withdraw this one because I don't think it's a good idea either, as cheating is possible in survival mode.

I asked the same question here.
To prevent fraud, it would be better to create rankings and hold Diamond and Platinum-only competitions more often I think.
This still allows for cheating, but I think it does less.

I understand that Beta for bug-fix but We have an interesting game and we should make better use of it.
If the number of users is low, there will be a delay in fixing bugs.
My real ID is not playable after wave 2 due to a bug, they can't solve this in PB2, so I have to wait until PB3.

I tried to see if that was possible with a second ID, thinking that was the cause of the bug as I was only playing training mode, I was able to reproduce the same bug if I only played training mode for more than a week in a row, the ID I am using now is the third one!
I am giving feedback and I think it will improve in PB3

I have no problem with a ranking system after OPEN BETA, but when I see good players I know quitting and new users not continuing to play at the moment, I think it would be good to introduce ranking in PB3 and reset it in OPEN BETA to create a ranking system.

The more good players we have, the more attractive the game will be, so I hope the management will think about that a bit.

I'm a bit of a worrier. hahaha🤣
Kieran is targeting 75,000 people, and if that happens I'll be happy to fly.

I understand where your coming from, but we aren't going to create a meaningful and core DAU player base by incentivizing players with monetary rewards for playing a private beta. ILV is still in such an early state of development that the full gameplay loops are not there yet to keep players engaged and consistently playing.

IMO, to keep players active you need consistent updates and a lot more depth/engaging gameplay loops. I think we will see a more active player base as we get PvP private beta eventually released and more depth/variety with OW updates, etc.

I agree with you, and I am one of those who think that illuvium will be a very good game I hope.

"2.Weekly ILV prizes for the top 10 winners."
About this one, since iluvitars was so successful with the prize money, I thought maybe we could do the same thing.

As I mentioned here, it's easy to cheat, so now I'm against it.

I try not to think that my ideas are always right, and if I think it is not good, I will change my mind immediately,

I'm in favour of illuvium incorporating some of the esports, it needs a system that can't be rigged.
competitions of XBorg , it is not esports.

My idea of esports is to create a new esports booth, accept entries and start the game just on time and win or lose in a single game.
create a ranking system and limit the entry requirements for competitions to Diamond and Platinum, for example.
This will make it impossible to cheat.

I see great potential in illuvium and esports is one of them i hope.
This is a good thing for increasing the number of users.

I think Survival Mode is such a good game that it would be a shame to make it just a game of finding bugs in OW.
We could consider many more possibilities.

I have high hopes for PVP,but we need more time until this is released, so we can think about things after that, but I think there is nothing wrong with having a lot of ideas
If we take the good things from that, I think it will be a good game.

User numbers are important for the success of illuvium,
If PVP is released and the number of users increases, that would be great!

I have to chime in on this. There's a significant portion of players out there who would like to get rewarded for completing assignments and grinding. It's not all about competition against other players who clearly have inside edges and lots of time on their hands to figure out the strategies to stay on top all the time. CODM has so many ways to play, all offering different satisfying reward systems it could be used as a model. I've been on board with Illuvium since the very beginning and have a significant amount of time and $$ invested. Sometimes I want to battle, sometimes I want to grind. 🤙

It's important to come up with a lot of ideas, and I hope they'll make good ones in the process.

The number of users is the most important aspect of the illuvium business model, and if we don't reach that target, we will run into financial problems, in which case we will have no choice but to sell ILV, so we hope to find a way to avoid that.

I think the potential of illuvium is high, so I'm excited about that.

I think the main thing we can do to keep players engaged is transition to a more iterative, frequent patch cycle.

As it currently stands, we've been on the same Overworld (and Arena ofc) patch for many months. People played a lot for the first 2-3 weeks, less for the first 2-ish months, and as you point out, not much at this point.

I'd suggest moving to a 2-3 week patch cycle. Small changes are very compelling to learn and provide feedback on for players, and they do help keep the game fresh and keep excitement higher for players. Learning new or tweaked systems is enjoyable. There's a fair bit of precedent for a patch cycle like this in other emerging titles. It also reduces the risks associated with pursuing development paths without receiving widescale feedback on those paths as part of the process.

I think that this could be a DAO driven priority after the release of PvP - setting up the infrastructure to enable frequent patch cycles. It likely involves the development of a game launcher, to make patching a smoother experience, as opposed to releasing versioned downloads, which is clunkier for both the team and for players.

I'd hope this would be something put forward as a priority by the Game and/or Strategy sub-councils in the coming epoch, in consultation with the team so we can clearly identify a timeline and the amount of work required to get us to a state where a cycle like this is possible.

#

Rewards and leaderboards are compelling to start fostering a competitive scene, but the game needs to be in a relatively good balance state for that to make sense, and the fastest path to such a balance state will be to implement iterative feedback mechanisms through patching.

I agree with you guys, and I'm personally very happy about that.

As for the anxiety I feel.
That the number of users probably won't change that dramatically regardless of whether it is patched or not.

  1. the game is too difficult for most players to understand
  2. gamers play games they find interesting, they don't play them in a way that tests beta versions
  3. lack of competition, such as rankings, makes them unwilling to play.
  4. wasn't that interested in P2E, try it once anyway and end up

What we can do about 1.
I come from a Japanese community so I know a lot about my country
We are not in the habit of playing English software at all

If there was a place to explain how to play, etc., in different languages, and explain it in videos, etc., it might attract more users.

When I was in PB1 I studied on youtube with shabim, but I couldn't understand the English he was speaking, but I thought it would have been easier to play if they had been explained in Japanese.

There are a lot of non-English speaking people in the world, so I feel that it would be good to have videos with a wide range of explanations for beginners and advanced players alike.
Some people say they can find out about the game by going to the dedicated website, but I don't think the people who quit the game at 1. will read everything there.

It is good to have a video that everyone can easily judge and understand because they may not get to the point they are looking for straight away.

Another concern is that I feel there is not much interest in the number of users.
You might say that since we're in beta now we don't need to worry about that.
If you are in an environment such as Nintendo's, where you have the financial resources to develop a number of projects that can fail, and you only have to produce a few hits out of them, then yes, but for illuvium, failure is not an option.

I think we should care a little bit more about that, because if the number of users doesn't increase, the game won't be successful.

I still believe that from a gamer's point of view the Illuvium is very interesting and has a lot of potential.

From an investor's point of view, it is slightly different

The P2E industry at the moment is almost entirely unsuccessful and few investors are willing to invest there.
There are quite a lot of places to invest in cryptocurrency , so money is concentrated in the most popular places.

Some say that in the long run, but as long as there is limited development funding, there is no other way but to sell the ILV when it runs out, so as an investor it feels almost like gambling to want to invest in it.

I'm also an investor who believes in illuvium and currently holds 4,000 ILV, but I'm willing to take it as a gamble.

Elections for the council are taking place now, what can you do if you become council members?
The community includes people who enjoy the game and investors, please let me how we can get more users and make the game more successful, thank you!
