Governance V2 is here! Epoch 8 Nominations and processes start now! All the information you need is outlined below:
Council Nominations for Epoch 8:
• 2 week Nomination period starts on <t:1681801200:F>, and ends on <t:1683097200:F>
• All $ILV holders have the power to nominate candidates and $ILV stakers vote in the election to choose the next Sub-Council members of the new epoch
• How to Nominate: Submit your nomination on the website via Community → Governance → Nominations or this link http://link.illuvium.io/Epoch8Nominations
• Choose the Sub-Council you wish to nominate for Commmunity, Marketing, Strategy, or Game Sub-Councils. Outlines of relevant experience examples are given in the offiical IIP here: #📰〕governance-news message
• Fill out the form by answering some brief questions about what relevant professional crypto/DeFi/gaming experience they may have
• Providing a brief bio explaining what qualities the candidate will bring to ILV governance, why we should vote for your candidate, and a brief background on who they are. (Bio limited to 300 words)
• You can nominate yourself or a fellow community member. When nominating another member, please have a conversation with them first
• One nomination per member allowed across all sub-councils
Nomination/Campaigning Period:
• After the Nomination Period has concluded on <t:1683097200:F> we will have 5 days until voting starts on <t:1683529200:F> this time can be utilised by Candidates to campaign for their position in a sub-council
• Campaigning will be used as a platform for nominees to introduce themselves to the larger community
• Participate in AMAs, Townhalls, Interviews, and Debates. This is not mandatory for candidates but is great for the community to learn about you the nominees
• Gives time to field community comments and concerns as well as voice your qualifications
• Use the #1097581353266069625 or #1097581124059922583 for any discourse around the candidates or nomination process
Voting Period:
• 5 days starts on <t:1683529200:F> and ends on <t:1683961200:F>
• Qualifying nominees will be added to Snapshot for voting
• Voting will be a blind snapshot vote
• After voting has ended, the new Council will be issued council NFTs and start their term on <t:1685257200:D>.
Remember—an Illuvinati Council member always maintains integrity, offers transparency on their opinions, and acts in the best interests of the DAO. They are responsible for voting on any proposals to the Illuvium DAO during the given epoch.
Our community is filled with strong, capable leaders, and we invite them to step forward to lead the DAO as Council Members. Their service facilitates positive changes that will improve the Illuvium ecosystem for everyone.

Illuvium community,
After two epochs serving this amazing DAO, I have decided to step back from governance and will not be running for a position in governance v2. In helping create this new model, the goal was to identify current and future needs of the DAO and create a structure for experts to guide the path forward. With this system, I am certain there are specialists more qualified than me to drive the next phase of DAO development.
It has been an honor to serve the DAO for the past 11 months, and I need to rededicated my time to focus on my professional growth and personal health.
My words of advice to the future council members are to remember who you serve as you fulfill a role in advancing the organization. Listen and learn. Ask tough questions and advance the debate. Be willing to challenge assumptions while seeking advice from all perspectives. Remember there are a variety of motives, levels of commitment, and differences in expertise (real and perceived), so remain skeptical, even of your own qualifications and knowledge in the rapidly evolving web3 space.
The project remains at a critical stage prior to publicly launched, revenue-bearing products, so work to provide clarity. Serve as a buffer between a committed community and actual product development. Consider the idea that the council owns declaring what is developed, while core contributors must be empowered to own how it is delivered. Speed and clarity with appropriate quality is needed, and while the community needs to feel heard, be that critical layer to filter and focus.
There remain many challenges in achieving model decentralized governance, but if there is one community that can get there, it is Illuvium. My DMs remain open and am happy to advise or coach anyone who seeks my input.

I want to be among the first to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering dedication to the DAO. Having been a part of almost every council, I've witnessed your steadfast commitment to always prioritising the DAO's interests, and for that, I cannot thank you enough. While we may have had our differences at times, you've consistently encouraged open and constructive dialogue, ultimately leading to substantial, positive changes for the project.
I want to emphasise the importance of health, something that our administrators and many core contributors have often sacrificed on multiple levels. As a council member, your involvement may have been less intense, but your contributions throughout the two epochs have been nothing short of remarkable, with an abundance of time, effort, and care. Although the potential success of our suite of games could greatly outweigh these sacrifices, it's crucial to remember what truly matters.
We sincerely hope you will consider offering us your invaluable services again. Until then, we wish you nothing but the best. Please remember that you can always reach out to me for positive or negative matters. I encourage the rest of the DAO to join me in acknowledging and appreciating your unwavering support and insights, which have driven the project towards success.
