Fun idea!!
I kinda like it π
Yesterday I remembered the Tamagotchi days and how people went nuts with it in the 90s haha good old times π
Great work. looks like fun.
I would love to give the phone to my Nice and let her play with my Illuvial π
i would play it on my own. when i walk with the dog or have some free time at work like my nightshifts
It was huge!
I wonder what killed it. Was it that it was confined to a little plastic piece? Or the lack of being able to share between people? Or not being able to brag besides to a couple of kids in school? Or because there was no bigger purpose/ motivation to raise a Tamagotchi and just raising it became to boring?
I need to look into that. I think we can pull some lessons for ourselves.
Almost everything is a fad. There are very few products that have managed to stand the test of time.
Illuvipets would have a few things going for it. First if the kid got bored they could move into playing Illuvium Overworld. Second there is a use case for it in the Overworld which Tamagotchi didn't have.
Good point. I also think from a monetary perspective if we could improve stats via playing this game then people with less money could for example scoop up Illuvials with shitty stats and improve them over time to sell for a profit? That way you would always have people sweeping the floor and looking for the cheapest Illuvials π€£
Or if you have a kid, you can literally buy them a pet π and then as you said at one point it could just move to the Overworld and have fun there or use it in a Mario Kart style game π
Chat GPT agrees with you haha
This is a cute idea.
I like this. Definitely something that could work. I like how you connected it to the overworld with plants, illuvitars with decorations and IZ with land and fuel. It would be cool as the only game in the Illuvium universe that could improve the base stats of a weaker Illuvial.
Thank you πͺ I also think 'the walking to improve it's strength" would add to the overall game loop.
- Overworld for chill grinds & Arena for competitive fights that you play at home.
- ILZ is a game what you play when you outside and sit, like a Bus...and
- Illuvipets would be a game (additionally to the taking care part) a game for outside when you're moving. Touching a little bit the move 2 earn/ fitness Genre.
Additionally, there's a high chance that its simplicity would apeal to the casual player.
Feed it, pet it and go with it on walks. Stress free experience π
Walking would make it an automatic no go for me just because I don't like apps that use location. But I know I am not the majority on that.π
Me neither, but Sweatcoin for example is measuring the movements from the accelerometers in your phone to count steps. I use it on my runs in flight mode and without GPS. They've got an algorithm that filters out fake steps in case people just want to shake the phone for hours π€£
Also the walking would be a side hustle next to the petting that gives you a small boost in strengthing the Illuvial. It would help improve the Illuvial a little bit faster compared to the ones that don't want to walk. (+ Maaaybe the adventure mode to send it out to find/fetch things... potentially)
So walkers and non walkers are covered and as mentioned if you don't like GPS then let it use the physical activity data to count steps which is anyways working almost on every phone in the backgrounds (even though it's less accurate and it won't count every step). Check out Sweatcoin (which btw has 100 million registered useres) to see what I mean π
--
But as you said. It might not be for you. The same way some don't like Autobattlers and others don't like open world games.
The most important thing is to offer variety to cover different types of gamersππ
I love this idea. I want to be able to swipe on my phone and have the hair and feathers move in response. Have my illuvial snuggle up to my finger and purr, sounds so nice π
Yeah, like a proper bonding experience β€οΈπ
@sage rock gives me these vibes.
I really like the idea but its worth noting that I would like to see it taken next level. There is something they keep improving on in Pokemon which is basically the picnic feature in the latest game or Pokemon Amii in previous games. I would like to see the 'pet' type vibes be the focus of the game and have enough animations and interactions available that your illuvial truly feels alive. Especially in an AR setting
Like with everything my concern is always botting. However I like the idea of linking this to geolocation features and tools which helps the overall concept.
Oh I want an Illuvipet! Just a lazy one that won't go on walks.π
Bhahaha fair enough π
Great points, that's why I think this could be the groundwork for a Pokemon Go style game, by adding and rolling out features, like in your suggestions, in phases.
Phase One: Feed, play, eat & sleep. Nothing fancy just simple and fun Tamagochi gameplay.
Phase Two: Going for a walk. (GPS or internal sensors)
Phase Three: Adding features like picnic, cooking, sending out Illuvials to fetch something, etc... and ofc AR.
Phase Four: Geocatching/ social elements. Players or Illuvium DAO drop some food or other kind of presents π (maybe small amounts/dust of sILV2 or accessories) for other players to find.
We start with super simple, but still quality and cute gameplay and make sure that each Phase has enough time "to dry the concrete" (adding to the solid foundation) before we move to the next phase. Pokemon Go took years and many updates to get where it's now and we're in no hurry either π
Would love to see an illuvium pet sitting industry
Well, botting is something we have to live with. At least with Illuvipets it would be time gated and action gated. For example feeding makes 3 times per day sense. Sleeping for multiple hours. It's very grindy, even for bots...and even if you could block bots, you'd still have people that do this ππ
Haha you mean professional petting/taking care of Illuvials? π
Ok ok, this would add complexity, buuut if I'm honest. If I had multiple favorite Illuvials, let's say 2 Holo's and it takes months to improve the stats of 1 pet.....yeah, I'd pay someone (a reasonable amount) to improve my other favorites.
Landowners could build day care centers π
Botting isn't a concern unless true rewards are involved. Eg if they can acquire rewards previously only obtainable via the overworld you are about to devalue a whole lot of real humans. But as a casual cute mobile game to build a better connection with your illuvials it's great. We don't need to add nft rewards to every game created
We should absolutely think about how we can make people get more attached to their Illuvials. I have a feeling that we spend too much time on big game ideas to attract competitive players and not enough on the collection aspect. With Illuvitars we already switched to a collection game, with Illuvials we still see them as basically just feeding into Arena and potentially other games. But owning an Illuvial and developing an emotional attachment could be the entry point into Illuvium for many more mainstream people. So yes, I definitely like your ideas.
Building out the collection aspect of Illuvials with more animations and interactions could also provide the game designers of Overworld and other games with the building blocks e.g. for catching Illuvials in the Overworld, while already providing useful value for Illuvipets now and will keep Illuvium interesting until more competitive PC games haven been developed.
Its a fun idea. Please bring it up again after we launch the first 3 games (not including illuvium: beyond)
@sage rock I think the idea is great. In the future engagement stats will be critical to securing patnerships. The more often you can have attenion on an Illuvium product the better. Also the idea of expanding the use of IP in as many phases of daily activity is in a way creating a metaverse. Blending the physical and dcigital world.
That's also an interesting view point. We've got the Illuvium Asset Zoo and as you said, things that'll get developed for Illuvipets can be used in other games too, but also vice versa.
For example in the asset zoo is a section with plants that work well together. Those assets could be unlocked by Illuvipet players to make/dekorate a garden similar to a playground for Illuvials to run around and have a good time to improve their wellbeing. Haha there's a lot of potential π
This is really a good perspective. Basically covering different types of players. Competitive and the casual ones and therefore having a healthy mix of those different types/genres of games will probably be best for the Illuvium ecosystem to foster.
Definitely food for thought.
I'm glad people enjoy the idea. I'll definitely bring it up again after we launch open beta. This gives me time to work out the different phases for rolling it out and tinker on the gameplay and maybe an antibot system π
Oh man, this is why I love brainstorming. Didn't even think about that.
But focusing just on Illuvipets and let's say it gets high traction... Other companies might want partnerships for players attention and strike a deal with Illuvium to represent their brand.
Uhhhh, this opens up new collaborations opportunities. Damn, thanks for your input, new ideas to implement other brands in Illuvipets are flashing through my head π€― I'll add it for the next Illuvipets draft βοΈ
Awsome, grow the idea to an IIP. We need an Illuvium app. I like that you can target children. This would also be great for engagement in devloping countries that are reliant on mobile.
I would love this to go to the game sub-council once established. This might be simple enough that the web team could build an MVP.
Amazing idea I'm all for it. This idea gave me nintendogs nostalgia. I remember doing the frisbee competition. Maybe way down the line we implement competitive mini games for with leaderboards. Leaderboards based off species so your Kukka is only ranked against other Kukkas. Could be a fun way to bond with your illuvipet
Would be fire π₯π but I don't want the Team to get distracted until the main games are out π
@unborn seal what do you think about this? Any suggestions? I'm still thinking about some concepts/ gameplay π
Sorry, for the late reply. Thanks for the input. The minu games are a great idea π‘πΈ
Also sorry for the late reply π I voted for you. Maybe next time you'll make it into the council πͺπΈ
lol, im going to have a good look and get back to you. so far i think its a great idea.
cool, excited for feedback and ideas
Hey Darko.
I think the pet raising is awesome, not sure about how they are chosen. I would like to choose my own, yet I guess a limited choice would be best for the beginning.
Excellent use for plants.
I see adventures to resource gather as a nice little boost.
I can definitely see this creating emotional connection to the player and yes a good way to introduce kids, yet not sure on the age restrictions for this. They may have to play with a family member who has the game.
Overall I thinks it's a great idea and could be an excellent add on, I'm very keen on the fitness idea.
I'm not so sure about leveling up your illuvial to play in the main game. Maybe it has tie ins, yet stays seperate to the main game.
Hey @unborn seal sorry for the late reply (sometimes I'm to inactive in Discord π )
I'm working a little bit (from time to time) on the game loops (yes, multiple) + lore (with the limited knowledge I have).
After the prologue (which I wrote too π ) of the IlluviPets game you find yourself in the spaceship and decide if you're going load a captured Illuvial from the OW or adopt one that's straying around.
If you adopt one then that's a Tier 0 randomly chosen from the first 5 of the current generation π€
The "improving the stats" idea is also something that needs to be thought through. The cool thing is that if you leave that feature out, the game still works.
I'll be thinking and incorporating feedback as I go and once I'm done I'll present the whole thing to discuss again with community members and then write an IIP and then let's see how it goes π
Thanks for the positive feedback. It's encouraging me to keep working on it π«Ά
Nice concept
β€οΈ
this should be 100% the 5th game mode.
no. 1000%
Thank you π feedback and ideas are always appreciated π€
π€π€
Hahaha it would be fun for sure πβοΈ especially combined with the quality that the Illuvium Team delivers π₯β€οΈπ€
im a genopets player. and im telling you, the illuvium team can do 10 times more than the genopets team did in 10 times less.
if that happens, im stopping playing genopets to go full time on illuvium
Haha I just started playing Genopets 2 weeks ago and was thinking the same. It's ok, but nothing too special. I honestly don't like the characters π
However, if the Illuvium Team ever decides to do this (and I hope they do π€) it'll be game over for any other Pet (Tamagotchi) style game out there π€
Especially if it ties into the broader Illuvium ecosystem π₯Ή
oh yesss
the idea of the genopets team is very very good. but i just think they are too inexperienced to execute...
Yes, but they can always improve on their product and I hope they get something really appealing. The potential and motivation is there π€
But still, I'd prefer the Illuvium IP ππ
potential is not there.
they fighting only with motivation xD i promise. ive seen them for a long tme
Anything that adds to the value of Illuvials I'm up for! If done right with some tweaks I could see children really loving this game β€οΈ
You calling me a child?
There will always be outliers and there's nothing wrong with being one π₯° π
I do think web team might be able to MVP this. what does this need to get to the next stage? ... I could help draft up an IIP with you @sage rock if you like and this has any chance of getting out of <@&1107754780744487002>
I think the easiest thing to do since itβs been so long since the original idea is to write it out in proposal form and make a new thread to gather community feedback and get the required number of upvotes π love the idea
That would be really nice π₯Ή I'm currently overwhelmed with real life stuff - wedding/work/ creating a business π
Do you want to have a call to talk about this and I can lead you through a couple of things I've managed to work on?
That's a fantastic idea π‘ IlluviPets 2.0 π and in that thread 𧡠link to this one back too.
I love that so many people like this idea π₯Ήπ
π―
looks like a fun idea. i like it
Sounds great you want to send me a friend request and we can coordinate a call in DMs
Count me in on that call as well! Hit me up with a fr :]
I would love to be part of the call and help - but if Arty & Garf have this covered! (Basic but essentially a virtual doggo)
I spend time daily playing Dogami π
Oh that's cool ππ I'll throw it into the ILLUVIPETS COUNCIL chat group π
up
I opend up a new thread with new ideas and to let the community run (hopefully) wild with it. Illuvepts 2: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1222607986883559556
Yes
Um. Yes. Wtf. Why have I never thought of this wtf. I want an illuvipet RIGHT NOW
That's the advantage of a community. The hive mind effect π₯
If you ever get bored and feel motivated you can check out my PDF with all the rough ideas π‘ I had on part 2: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1222607986883559556
Hoping that someone else will pick it up and run with π
You actually commented a year ago on this π€£
100% - Here's my next level idea:
A physical device which is activated by burning an NFT egg.
And once raised you can convert the raised Illuvial back to an NFT, removing it from your device.
Its genius. And the eggs are found in the overworld and have a general 10% better odds at better stats
I want π₯ S.
I love the idea of eggs feeding into this game. I donβt think a physical device is necessary immediately unless we have distribution reach, but to a mobile app would be awesome
Also, connect the marketplace to the app. So people can just buy eggs, raise them, sell them back. Single game in and of itself.
Donβt even have to play any other game to enjoy and see benefits
I love the idea, but only the physical device I don't like β€οΈ I don't want to carry one extra thing. The phone is good enough π
Yeah realistically a physical device is probably a step too far... but so cool too ...
