Simple Summary
Create API endpoints for (approved) community developers, incentivizing the development of tools and websites related to the Illuvium Gaming World.

Abstract
API endpoints are an important and necessary tool for developers to gather information and develop tools. Gathering information like top ranking, illuvials, combos, energy efficiency, card decks and so on will allow players to better position themselves in the battlefield, thus giving each player a better experience overall.

Rationale
We are seeing a greater number of guilds building up in discord. Each guild will ultimately need tools such as discord bots, websites and other tools. Taking Axie Infinity as an example, they had an infinity amount of issues with their API being down, high latency etc. Illuvium can start the development sooner than later and make sure it doesn't happen on this end.

Overview
TLDR; Make Illuvium start the development of API endpoints for (approved) developers to start building. A simple example of an API being used is the Twitter Lands Bot (https://twitter.com/Illuviumlands), which utilizes the ImmutableX API to provide live sales data for each land. The possibilities are endless with Illuvium API.

By enabling API for Illuvium Zero and Illuvium Overworld, users will benefit and have a better in-game experience.

I’ve spoke spoken to Johnny about APIs in the past and its on the radar as something to do, just wasn’t highest on the priority list if that makes sense

Makes sense to me, the community being able to build 3rd party tools around the ecosystem would be nice.

It might be prudent to include at least some of the specific data you are hoping to get access to. I dont know if "make an API" is super actionable without more details.

Johnny is on holiday as he’s being going hard to get this IZ Alpha with the team to get it to you guys but will be good to bring up once he’s back

Something specific I would really like to see is a 'match results' output. It could include data for each match showing the winner, loser, and some kind of 'score' to indicate how much the winner won by.

For tournaments or any other kind of pre-scheduled match the participants could be shown ahead of time and the results updated live so people could make stuff like live brackets to show how their guild or favorite players are doing.

Thanks @twin jackal for bringing this up again. We've been patiently waiting for any news or updates on this as well.

Since IZ released, any news on this?

As for the collection, price history would be nice. We can already fetch (via Illuvium api) Volume history and high/low prices of each tier which is nice.

And I'm brainstorming about resource tracker. Not sure if it has any potential to be used but tracking resources that are (1)made within land and then (2)transffered to illuvidex could be a nice monitoring device. This way, we could, let's say, have a heatmap of resources and maybe guilds could offer trades to each other.

# past timber Nick commented on twitter about apis, essentially nothing will come until after ...

I think waiting until after open beta would be a mistake. Building out simple UIs can pay so many dividends to the illuvium team as it shouldn’t be too much effort and then you get “free” engineering time from all the people who want to improve the experience for people.
(Made up numbers) taking 100 hours of engineering time could = 1000s of hours gained.

All that being said at the end of the day I understand certain things need to be prioritized over others.

I’d like to get all staking/ILV data to be able to create a staking/revids management app.
