tl;dr: side story (traditional games): i love video games since i was little. i learned how to use consoles, nes/snes emulators, mobile devices, ipad, pc. became a consumer, and so i played various games from different devices. i'm quite selective to what i play. and the very first thing (#1 reason) i look for a game is the graphics. #2, if it's fun/enjoyable or will i get hooked or get bored (for story type games). maybe the last thing i look for a game, if it has a community. but it's ok if there wasn't, for as long as #2 is obtained: fun—it's always be the bottomline.

then, blockchain games happened... done some research and learned some from it. and everything i knew from traditional games, was feel like an organic kind of fun. now that blockchain games are here, it's more like i should do my part as well for the game, not just fun but for economy, and for the community.

PRESENT. what i like about blockchain games, aside from bonus rewards, earnings? etc. it's really the dynamic idea, integration, and evolution of how players, the game, and game company meets closely enough to connect and give each other benefits (play to earn or contribute and earn, etc. like a give and take) through blockchain technology. so, base in my personal experience (to what i only know), one of the game modes that is consistently innovating since years ago, that people truly having fun, is this kind of game mode: PVP Multiplayer.

  1. THE THRILL! actually, it's my very first time to play a card game-like such as the Arena. but the one thing Illuvium got me so interested to play is the breathe-taking animation and graphics (#1 reason) of those creatures battling in the arena! it's not just a typical card game, but a top-notch! and as i play and wander in the Overworld beta (thanks for the access) for first few hours, i was just thinking about sustainability of the game.. i was thinking already about the future. there's this kind of little fear of how long this super amazing blockchain game last? and so that's when i have dreamed of the 5v5 game mode in my sleep, lol

  2. THE FUTURE GAME MODE: 5v5 PvP Multiplayer | what's more thrilling than the ability to control your Illuvials and get into the battle field and rampage against the enemy! >,> so the idea goes something like this, after players got a total grasp of Arena, Overworld and Zero, ONLY the *stage 3 Illuvials in their inventory can compete in the Illuvium "RAMPAGE", where Team A and Team B rampage all throughout the Illuvium battle Land (square map seen in the poster. i just made a quick design of the map just for the idea). both team will start to harvest something in the land to gain abilities, and/or begin attacking the enemy til they reach the enemy's main Illuvium tower, and/or defend their tower from breaking. the harvesting (or crafting or farming) of abilities should not take long or be complexed. because the main goal is win in limited time, maybe around 10-20 minutes only.

  3. THE MUCH FUTURE-ISH IDEA: imagine when 5v5 took place in Virtual Reality?! players geared up their VRs, select and control their *stage 3 Illuvials, then begin the battle at Illuvium Rampage, and win Illuvium points! these points will be converted to sILV. and whatever they buy/bought in-game (battle pass items, skins?) are tradable and sellable in the market! traditional games never have this kind of system, yet.

  4. REFERENCE: The game mode is quite alike from:
    • Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (since 2016, consistently innovating and improving)
    • Pokémon Unite (since 2021)
    • League of Legends (since 2021)

but, Illuvium can make all that in PC first. so, what all those consistently popular and playable traditional games missing? the blockchain technology! here comes, Illuvium! sustaining the growth of the Illuviumverse for a lifetime?! lol anything can change, anytime.

also, maybe Illuvium can partner up with one of the game mode reference and integrate blockchain technology.. but this time, instead of areal view (typical view of those type of game), it will be in third person mode. by then, as if illuvials are taking an adeventure role playing game!

i only have ideas in mind. i don't have the means or resources to build something incredible (kinda expensive too lol) that i really want for a game. just sharing ideas, and wishing for a game that will stay in a constant path. there may be highs and lows but not totally downfall.

so i wish, more power and love to Illuvium

Love the art! A MOBA, which I think this is an idea for, has been talked about as a future game idea by the founders. Also I think your tl;dr (too long didn’t read) is missing 🙂

right! cos the main idea here is to get your illuvials and other in-game purchases, assets to not get stocked in your inventory. all things can be utilized and goes on. and you will have the freedom and options to sell or perhaps trade to other players (p2p). so it's not just card game auto battler, open world, land building.. there will be another "thing" after progression, it's the ability to control your illuvials at your own will to get into the battle field, the "Rampage" 5v5 multiplayer, hehe

Would be a lot cooler in my opinion to have illuvials evolve from stage 1 to stage 3 throughout the game much like pokemon unite.

I believe limiting the game to only stage 3 will only reduce potential of bigger player base & not necessary. Free to play with only skins/accessories to purchase works best with moba imo

thanks! just thought of limiting the stage to 3, cos of their evolved features and abilities, once they have it from their inventory or bought from the marketplace, just a simple buff from harvesting or jungling in the battle Land, for them to activate their 1st, 2nd, and ultimate abilities.

though my idea is for pc first, but if this goes to moba (cross-play perhaps?) i think stage 1-3 can be ravamped..

OR.. it could be...

at early game, they are all in stage 1, as they harvest or jungle in the wild forest Land lol and obtained some items, they will level up stage 2, til they get to stage 3. again, this shouldn't be complexed. just by harvesting they will level up to 1-2-3.. but, only players with stage 1-2-3 can play. if you don't have stage 3 yet in your inventory, you cannot enter the rampage...

for FREE to PLAY / PLAY TO EARN: those who want to play for free, they can--but they cannot earn "Illuvium points" that can be converted to fuel? or sILV2? or something to gain. Only those players who have played in T1-T5 can earn points if they win.

A MOBA is definitely a must for the Illuvium ecosystem.

I think it makes sense to simply allow whatever NFT Illuvials are held in the wallet are the roster of characters you can play in the MOBA. Problem is then, how does gameplay in the MOBA assist you with increasing your illuvial roster so you can play more illuvials in the MOBA? What is the gameplay loop?

Usually in a MOBA you start off with "starter" characters that you can play from the outset for free, then earn "gold" or whatever to buy other characters.
In the beta of Overworld at least you start off with a couple of Illuvials, not sure how that will change with story/tutorial being added, but it pairs up nicely with starting off the account in the MOBA w/ a couple characters to play. You gotta onboard players and get them started, and give them a way to work their way up.

In order to onboard players into the MOBA, however, they will need to be able to play with stage 1s, even T0 S1s like dokas. Maybe if you have a S2/S3 that can be reserved for just a cosmetic upgrade. Balance between characters in a MOBA is very important. They don't need to be 1-1 balanced against each other, but someone starting off playing a T0 S1 shouldn't feel completely outmatched at the start of a game simply because the other team has T5 S3s. I.E. at the start of the game, a T0 S1 should be able to be competitive against a player on a T5 S3. Gameplay should be "normalized" so every illuvial can fill some role, otherwise it will get stale with only T5s being acceptable at high end play.

Perhaps for simplicity you can use a character in the MOBA if you have any illuvial from the line in your wallet. At the start of the game all players are stage 1 and level up to S2 and eventually S3 through the match, and get stronger, more stats, more abilities. This would mean players of equal gameplay skill, one with a ramphy and one a rhamphyre would experience the exact same gameplay.
