I dont know how would it effext the economics side of things but it would be a good stream for the game to sell game connectors for landowners who have multiple lands in different places/continents to be able to connect them all together and use the multiplier if rhey have a higher tier game and make an megacity. Also could be fun to be able buildwise tp have a huge land to build stuff on .
