As of now we know that ranger can sprint, jump, and jetpack

but can she glide? she should glide yes?

what about adding movement combos
fly + hold shift = glide (no cost also no bar regen)
hold crouch = (focus and time slow)
sprint + double click jump = jet jump boost (like a large leap and it costs 3 bars)
crouch + jump = (vertical jump boost equivalent to 3 jumps)
fly/glide + crouch = majestic superhero landing (for faster fall)

I just noticed when you sprint and jump it kinda loses momentum

also noticed that grant did some movement combos sprint + jump + fly + sprint really fast but I would love to see them add more momentum or speed and make it smooth or fluid

They also said that they wanted to add

  1. Sliding for parts such as the taiga caverns.
  2. Increased falling modes for, again, Taiga "The Fall".

But more recently they stated that they wanted to reduce the size of that biome for some reason! Imo that would be too bad and reduces the immediate need for cool movement mechanics such as these.

With the incredibly vast environments that feel pretty empty now (i mean... the scorch of Crimson Waste is pretty empty... And that may be the purpose but it just feels boring imo.), i think better mobility is key to allow for engaging gameplay. So I agree with more ways of mobility and hope they wont decrease the expansiveness of biomes but instead increase mobility.

Going a bit off topic because these are not movement mechanics but more traversal mechanisms.. I would love to see interactions between the wind/environment and ranger.

In the scorch f.e. there is a sand storm raging. Could that increase momentum of your ranger if you go a certain direction and then add a map layer where you can see the current wind-directions?
And maybe there could be a hazmat suit upgrade so that you dont die as fast in water. Then in areas such as halcyon sea and abyssal basin they could add streams where you move quicker if you run through the water or something 😄

The suit would give something like: less HP, attack speed and energy, but increased survivability from the elements.

Yup i love games with fast paced movement like apex, titan fall and warframe makes me feel immersed with the character and environment

im waiting something more tactical that can position the units when summoning monsters, and make them more animated, like the game Duelyst.

Both glide and slide would be nice additions.

@dapper remnant Sliding down slopes was already on our list, and to give you an idea, the next locomotion (v3 ) should also include :

Toggle Walk/ Run ( walk is already done but not used yet )
Sliding,
Swimming,
Front and back flips ( when you jump precisely at the right time ),
Run and Sprint Variations
Idle Variations, AFK anims.
Mozart behavior Rework
Landing and Jumping Variations.

And more, but so far they are the ones that coming to mind 🙂

Gliding is a cool Idea, but will require some extra designing ( digital wingsuit materializing maybe ) But I agree, it will be better and more fun to glide down instead of just falling straight.
