What are the range or min/max stats an illuvial can have? the concern is that stage 3 illuvials that are captured and not fused will have 'bad' stats and flood the market or make capturing stage 3's not appealing due to the RNG and difficulty doing so.

My question would be if illuvial stats are randomly rolled and we get some captures that are 'not ideal' for competitive play.

Would it be possible for example to fuse 2-3 stage 3 for example to re roll randomly the stats again. This way it burns illuvial supply whilst adding to the grind. (maybe add a 0.001% chance to roll it shiny)

Last thing I want to see happen is the intended excitement for finding a stage 3 no longer be looked for and a just catch stage 1/2's and skip on stage 3s meta approach happens, if you find a shiny stage 3 and the stats were bad it would be pretty sad times. @azure bobcat @kind patrol

so hearing this in the ama i had a thought..
When it comes to illuvials gaining varied stats from fusion.. that could be very frustrating for people
Keeping the same idea and being similar to augments..
each illuvial in game start with a basic stat & use a special designed augment to enhance them? could be used on the illuvial throughout the journey, crafted/ found say 10+/ 20+ of stats (health armour attack speed) same balance as the current augments even.. then it would stack with the fusion resetting the amount you can use?
i must admit the idea would need to be capped for how many augments you can use for each stat of each illuvial.. imagine somebody uses them for one illuvial.. titanor with 10K plus health and 1000 Armor .. broke lol

I just have to say that the Stage 3 skins I have seen so far look awesome (Treekang is my favourite so far). Absolutely makes sense to me to keep high stat illuvlials for fighting, and using low stat illuvials to skin. That said, I think it makes sense that a holo should have a better min/max than a standard, and a dark holo better again. Lastly, when you enter a battle you should be able to see the stats of the illuvials, therefore if there is a Stage 3 with bad stats and a Stage 2 with high stats, you can make the choice on which one you attempt to catch.

Hmmm, why not make it a new process and call it "Compounding", say you can do it with any illuvial and use an identical species to be burned to add a tiny fraction of stat boost based on the stats of the burned one, yet another burn mechanism overall to reduce the supply of illuvials
