I've tried multiple times, watching both the credits at the end of the campaign and in the main menu, neither of them give the achievement "meet the developers". as an achievement hunter I would like to be able to get it.

You can get the achievement if you change your version to one of the betas, the bug is not in those versions

You will preserve your achievements, but I'm not sure if you savedata will get messed up. I suggest you to make a copy of it before change just to be sure :)
