are you trying to spawn something in a sanbox level or in campaign?

do you have any mods installed?

when you press the escape key do you see any buttons at the bottom of the window?

and do you have any mods?

just in case, try to disable all of your mods

Disable Mods

Open the mod menu in Teardown, right click in the middle column, and select "Disable All"

Verify Steam Files
  1. Open the Steam client.
  2. Navigate to your Library.
  3. Right-click on Teardown and select "Properties".
  4. Click on the "Local Files" tab.
  5. Click "Verify Integrity of Game Files".
