as the title says i have been trying to get it to simply run at least borderless for the past 30 minutes to no success, i see no help online about this and nobody seems to know what the issue is or if they do they have no publicly talked about it? IDK, someone said their issue was with their ultrawide resolution but people with plain old 1080p monitors seem to have this issue too? what to do?

#

figured any resolution change do3esn't work, not just stuff relating to fullscreen.

#

I have had issues in the past similar to this because of DSR but i disabled restarted and still problem persists

same problem

The lack of responses to other online threads isn't giving me much hope, wondering if I should just refund :(

probably, if not having borderless is a deal breaker. you could help us narrow down the issue by clarifying how exactly you're switching to borderless

#

i'm assuming you're in the display tab in options, you click "borderless" or "fullscreen", does it crash right away or does it only crash when you click "apply"?

I had that when i had win 7 but i dont have that issue with win 10

screen flickers black and it crashes after the first black screen

#

then it goes black again for half a sec and im on desktop

heady flame
#

there should be a list of resolutions that appear under the graphics modes. do they look sensible? the first one should be the resolution of your monitor

nocturne gulch
#

yes

#

this is what the game would look like without changing display settings

#

that's why i find this to be such a problem, it doesn't use half my screen, it doesnt use 75% of it so i can do other stuff while playing the game, it uses preciselt most of it to the point of being unusable as if the game was full screen

#

but it is not fullscreen

nocturne gulch
#

this is the windowed res too

#

looks fine for windowed on my screen

one sec

#

no

#

game just minimizes or disappears, cant tell, loading circle appears on my cursor for 1 second ~ and then the game crashes with no errors or anything

doubt it but i wonder if it might have to do with you using 150% scaling?

#

also, err... do you own the game on steam?

nocturne gulch
#

yeah that did not fix it

#

i do own it

#

i bought it

#

i will probably refund it though if it just doesn't work ive been trying for 1 hour to get it to work

#

thanks for the help

Find Appdata local files
  1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog. Or open file explorer and select the top search bar.
  2. Type %localappdata% and press Enter.
  3. Navigate to the "Teardown" folder.

Replace options.xml with this one and try it

#

You can then change the resolution to 1 I think to go into borderless

nocturne gulch
#

also tried to edit your values

pine path
#

... Yeah. It replaces it with the other xml file.

when i got the game it worked the first time

#

but since then i have had the exact same problem

heady flame
#

try the other tips in the thread and if they don't work you're out luck, as i have no other ideas

sleek peak
#

is it an issue with the game or is it a problem on our end?

#

cloud it be a problem with the load amout?

#

and also why does it not give me a list of the resolutions i can use

#

its just 1 for each mode

#

and its diff

#

wait i got it

#

it was a resolution problem

#

i changed my res to native and it works

heady flame
#

why wasn't it native before..?

sleek peak
#

i play comp games so i use stretched res for like everything so it was on a custom res 1280x1080

#

😄

heady flame
#

i don't get the appeal of stretched

sleek peak
#

does it not support those?

heady flame
#

i'm not sure why it'd make a difference

sleek peak
#

well now we know it does

#

im going to try 1440x1080 too

#

oh wait i might know

#

the first time i started up teardown it was in native i think

#

and when i start it up in native it is fullscreen

#

but when i do not its in windowed

#

and you cant really change it without crashing
