I don't make sweets too often, so when I do I usually tend to stick to what I know works. To help myself try new stuff I usually first experiment with those pre-made, ready-to-buy baking mixes before I try some home-made recipes.
A few days ago, while shopping, I stumbled upon a box that said "Brookies: Brownie Cookies". I don't know why, it intrigued me. Why does this exist? What is it like? Is it just two separate things mashed together?
I had to find out.
And find out I did, here they are. Brookies. It's exactly what you think it is. Bottom half brownie, top half cookie. The recipe seems like it's just a combination of a brownie recipe with a cookie recipe. It tastes like a cookie on top of a brownie.
As for why it exists, I sincerely don't know. Maybe for when you can't decide if you're more hungry for brownies or cookies?
Either way, they won't go to waste 😆
