Haven't homebrewed anything in a while and made these for my players! Wanted them to be able to build a mobile base modularly but without needing to worry about quite as many details.

Base Carts & Carriages
This rules set seeks to provide a modular way for characters to design a carriage, creating a mobile base of sorts, without needing to worry about speed, maneuvering, exact sizes, or encumbrance.

The Base Carts and Carriages provide a foundation for adding on compartments and additional modifications. Speed is determined using the standard Mounts and Vehicles rules. Carts and Carriages are objects and use the standard Objects rules in addition the following stats:

Size: The size of the cart or carriage.

Axles: How many axles and by extension how many wheels, the cart or carriage possesses (2 wheels per axle) which in turn decides the following:

__Units__: Each axle provides 1.5 units which can be taken up by compartments.

__Required Strength__: The required Strength score needed to pull the cart or carriage. Multiple creatures can be hitched up and use their combined Strength score meet the Required Strength.

Base Price: The price of the cart or carriage, before adding compartments or additional modifications.

Carts and Carriages are objects and use the standard object rules for Hit Points (HP), Armor Class (AC), and Damage Threshold:

**Cart **
Size: Large
Axles: 1 (1.5 units, 13 Strength)
Base Price: 5 GP
HP: 27
AC: 13

Carriage
Size: Huge
Axles: 2 (3 units, 22 Strength)
Base Price: 25 GP
HP: 54
AC: 15
Damage Threshold: 10

Carriage, Travel Wagon
Size: Huge
Axles: 3 (4.5 units, 44 Strength)
Base Price: 75 GP
HP: 110
AC: 13
Damage Threshold: 15

Compartments
Compartments are the individual pieces that make up the carriage. Compartments can be taken multiple times, as long as the requisite Size requirements are met. Compartments use the following statistics:

Size: How many units the compartment takes up on the base cart or carriage.

Base Price: How much the compartment costs, which may be increased with optional additions in the compartment’s description.

Tools: Some compartments allow for an individual within to make use of tools, in which case the requisite tool is mentioned here.

Magical: Whether or not the compartment is magical, which can be detected or dispelled as a spell effect with an aura of Transmutation.

Example Carriage Creation
This example creates a basic passenger carriage. It uses the Carriage base, which gives it 3 units for adding compartments and a Base Price of 25 GP.

Add a Passenger Car for 1.5 units, leaving 1.5 units left to use, increasing the price of the carriage to 40 GP

Add 2 Storage Space compartment, each for .5 units, leaving .5 units of space left over and increasing the price of the carriage to 50 GP

There is still space left over but this is the most basic carriage example. It could instead use a Comfortable Sleeping Car for 1.5 units and 30 GP and a Sleeping Quarters for 1.5 units and 50 GP. This creates a more comfortable travel car for a higher price at 105 GP but at the cost of storage space.

Or it could be the carriage of a lord or lady, with a Luxurious Passenger Car compartment for 2.5 units of space and 120 GP with a Storage Space compartment for .5 units and 5 GP. A luxury carriage costing 150 GP worthy of any of noble personage.
