This is interesting
These options are kinda super stacked
I wonder, are these for player use or is this world building that includes mechanical options for the flavor?
For player use. Mind you, this race is not to be used in base DND with the race from the PHB but for a race compendium specific to my own setting. They might be a little overtuned at the moment though in an attempt to match the flavour.
Yeah I mean the base race alone has more traits than most races
If the goal is slightly stronger than normal races then fine, these all feel to be about 1.5-2x as potent as typical races
Expert Tracker and Silent Cryptid wasn’t originally traits, but part of a feature I call “Culture”, specifically “Imphiri Culture”, but I moved them over for flavor reasons. Generally, my races don’t get any proficiencies, as those would be tied to culture more than biology, which my race homebrews focus on.
But animal based races are somewhat of an exception
Although I’m not set on keeping those traits in the race, because I don’t want them to be too powerful.
The baseline for my homebrews is customization, so by the very premise the races will have more options and features than base 5e
The number of features is less a focus than their power, although some races are meant to be stronger than others. That just means that playing them comes with caveats
