I've got an iPhone running an app that uses the cameras for an RTSP stream or http stream, both of which work fine. RTSP streams in VLC just fine, HTTP works in every browser I've tried. However, putting them in to the webcam config just results in nothing. Settings attached. If I copy and paste that URL into VLC it comes right up and streams fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

That does the same thing
So if you copy this link into open in your browser, it works?
rtsp://192.168.68.8:8081/video
I bet it doesn't, so if it does not work in your browser, it does not do the same!!!!!
ip cam is a <video> tag. this will not work with this mode... i would test it with mjpeg modes
I highly recommend to give us information about the app and what modes you tried with http://192.168.68.8:8081/video
Understood on the rtsp. This verbiage in the docs is extremely confusing then, though
As they normally provide hls stream, through the http endpoint iirc
That's why I asked what modes you tried with the http url
I got it to work wuth UV4L-MJPEG
pls try mjpeg-streamer (without adaptive) and dont use uv4l-mjpeg mode
mjpeg-streamer gives me a white/gray screen
do you use a mac with safari?
i've got a mac and use chromium, a windows PC with edge and chromium and an Ubuntu 24.03 desktop with firefox and chromium
ok. just mac with safari cannot display the normal mjpeg-streamer mode. uv4l-mjpeg will blow up your browser ram + will create delays. its not a very good streaming client.
if I use mobileraker, mjpeg-streamer works fine
but not in any browser
(discovering these things as I go!)
mobileraker on iOS
mobileraker has nothing todo with the webinterface...
it imports the webcam config from the webinterface
but it works fine in there, but in any browser, I just get a white/gray screen
Vs
it's internal DNS
you use a complete different domain and https. this will create "cross secure requests"
this will be also your issue
you should not mix https with http reqeusts
thanks! got it.
maybe your issue could be fixed, when you use your reverse proxy also for your webcam. just to use a https url in your url stream
