#Can't get RTSP stream, or http stream to work

I've got an iPhone running an app that uses the cameras for an RTSP stream or http stream, both of which work fine. RTSP streams in VLC just fine, HTTP works in every browser I've tried. However, putting them in to the webcam config just results in nothing. Settings attached. If I copy and paste that URL into VLC it comes right up and streams fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

That's because rtsp isn't supported by your browser

#

Use the http stream instead

dire axle

That does the same thing. This works

#

This doesn't

gentle flame

I bet it doesn't, so if it does not work in your browser, it does not do the same!!!!!

As they normally provide hls stream, through the http endpoint iirc

#

That's why I asked what modes you tried with the http url

I got it to work wuth UV4L-MJPEG

mjpeg-streamer gives me a white/gray screen

#

do you use a mac with safari?

dire axle
#

i've got a mac and use chromium, a windows PC with edge and chromium and an Ubuntu 24.03 desktop with firefox and chromium

tardy briar
#

ok. just mac with safari cannot display the normal mjpeg-streamer mode. uv4l-mjpeg will blow up your browser ram + will create delays. its not a very good streaming client.

if I use mobileraker, mjpeg-streamer works fine

#

but not in any browser

#

(discovering these things as I go!)

#

mobileraker on iOS

tardy briar
#

mobileraker has nothing todo with the webinterface...

dire axle
#

it imports the webcam config from the webinterface

#

but it works fine in there, but in any browser, I just get a white/gray screen

it's internal DNS

tardy briar
#

you use a complete different domain and https. this will create "cross secure requests"

#

this will be also your issue

#

you should not mix https with http reqeusts

dire axle
#

thanks! got it.

tardy briar
#

maybe your issue could be fixed, when you use your reverse proxy also for your webcam. just to use a https url in your url stream

dire axle
#

working on it now. appreciate the help, truly!

#

got it! thanks again.
