I have been aple to connect ot my RPi normally for the past few months with MainsailOS installed. Over the past week or so, I have been having connection issues where the pi will be reachable for a few minutes after booting, but then randomly cut out. My pi is connected over WiFi, not ethernet I can ping my router (and google.com) on both the pi and my laptop, but I cannot ping the pi from my laptop. I used this as a sanity check to see if something may be disconnecting the pi. When I connect the pi to ethernet, I am able to ping both to the pi and from the pi to my laptop. I wasn't sure this could be a problem with sonar, so I checked it and had previously been deactivated. I enabled it and I believe it is now working (the last log message has Dependency crudini found in... Are there other steps I can take to continue to use Mainsail over WiFi?

I found this discussion which I believe had a similar issue, although no solution was given.

The Problem is that there is no real solution to it, it all depends on your environment and wifi setup. Sonar is kinda band aid to mitigate the issues a bit, but cant fully because the wifi chip and their driver implentation in the kernel are the real issue here.Nothing we can do about unfortunattly. There is only one case I could imagine, see your router setup if there is an option called 'Client Isolation' or a like. Some routers have a function that prevents communication between clients connected to WiFi.

That’s what I was wondering too. I have the T-Mobile WiFi which is extremely limited on customization so I’m not sure I’ll be able to check for it. I can see when I’m home this evening

Could you share device type or name? Maybe I could do some research for a manual

We have the T-Mobile 5G Gateway and these are known for having very little control. I’m mostly confused why this was working for months previously and continues to work if the rpi is on Ethernet. Once it is on WiFi, it works for the couple minutes but then disconnects

The WiFi chip in the pi is know to be worse

But sonar should solve that
