Launching a Python script from Mainsail/klipper

Hi. I'm not sure if this is a klipper or mainsail question so I'm just going to ask away...

I would like to trigger the launch of a python script of my writing, perhaps to control a galactic unicorn (made by pimoroni.com) based on events such as a GCODE command or macro called from within printer.cfg.

Is this possible through either a mainsail or klipper software hook, somehow?
Don't worry about the galactic unicorn, I'm more interested in the ability to launch a python script of my making.
