Why do some users have ## in their name?

Some users who experience psychosis may, but not always, have the symbols '##' or '#' at the front of their name.

This user may genuinely believe untrue things as absolute truth and interact with the server that way. Note: this is not role-playing, impersonation, or the same as a system having an [introject](#1368123284029313024 message).

What is psychosis?

Psychosis is a symptom, not an illness. It may be caused by extreme stress, trauma, or mental illnesses such as but not limited to bipolar, schizophrenia, anxiety, or depression.

Psychosis may involve delusions, which are situations or perspectives that are real to the person experiencing them, even if they don't align with the world around them.

What should I do?

If you are concerned for a user's safety or well-being, please #open-a-ticket (report user / problem). If the user does not seem to be in distress or danger, simply interact with them as normal and be respectful.
