S2: PG/AO Control 12/09/2024
- Weakness
True AO Control Decks.
Enemy Turn 1 + Good Hand Aggro.
Card Draw, it's possible to have bad hands and receive no card-draw engines, remove the most damage and stall until then.
Mind Corruption on your win-cons with no defense, Jorgen, Alteran etc. - Strengths
High levels of removal, over time you'll learn to save certain removals for certain creatures
You're opponent's mental state will slowly explode and reveal if they can take a loss sportsmanship-wise or not.
You get to charge up Jogen in your hand like he is your Spirit Bomb
This is a gauntlet deck, meaning if you're making a new deck pit it against your friend playing this and you'll know if it's ranked ready, take note match-ups exist so losing to it doesn't mean your newly created deck is poo poo.
If you're thinking why not just got AO control? because this choice has the capacity to apply pressure and become a tiny aggro deck with our blockers
3x Dead or Alive
1x Mercenary Mayhem
3x Daring Swindler
1x Pact of Non-Aggresion
2x Parchment Barrage
3x Avian Murder
1x Basumith, Reformed Devil
3x Cautious Hunting Party
3x Stalwart Guard
3x Wealth Pummel
1x Garenan, Trading Prince
1x Potion of the Weald
3x Reparations
3x Wandering Executioner
1x Spellbook Forgery
3x Fireball
2x Forceful Acquisition
1x Improvised Laws
1x Jorgen, the Stout
1x King Altaran, the Covetous
Things to consider:
- Another Forceful Acquisition to fight control's endgame better.
- Party of the Roaring Mutt for more blockers.
- Our own endgame finishers, doesn't have to be Jorgen or King. Forbidden Lotus, Paladin of Orallus, Guildsmith, Untaming Destroyer are all options too; what i'm trying to say here is the original deck list is not gospel and I'm full of errors, would love to see different variations of this deck out there to keep them guessing.
