#MA keeps looping single track played via automation

The only solution in the forum were people switching to Snapcast which shouldn't be called solution.

Long story short: Had a Raspi connected to a USB Speaker with MPD and integrated it in Music Assistant which worked flawlessly.
Changed it later from MPD to Squeezelite for multi-room-sync and now when I play my one time alarm song via automation the song keeps looping forever.
If I intervene via the Music Assistant UI it stops the loop.

I made sure that in the LMS (Lyrion Media Server) the client has no looping and the Music Assistant Device has no looping.

Is this already known and a user side problem?

Music Assistant keeps looping

Ok so I cannot figure this out. No matter what settings I have music assistant keeps looping when I send a single track to media_player.master_bedroom_audio_3. It behaves normally when I just play media on that media player via the media interface in HA. the media player is a vlc telnet client that explictly forbids loop and repeat via cli flag.

Are you using Picoreplayer?

You should avoid using LMS at the same time as MA.

No a random debian I think with MPD installed on top ^^
I'm not even interested in LMS tbh, but can you suggest any other audio service where I can sync the audio of two devices reasonably well?

2x MPD has a second of delay which is terrible

Just install Picoreplayer on it

Ok, this then can be integrated into HA/MA and if I do the same on my LXC (Proxmox) machine for the second box it should work well I assume.
I can try that! (given Picoreplayer runs on Raspi Zero W) xdd

You would have to find a different squeezelite solution for your proxmox machine.

Sorry to bother again but I just read online that the Picoreplayer also runs as a squeezelite client (Perplexity AI). Wouldn't that be quite the same as I have it now on the Raspi?

It’s not “a random Debian with MPD installed on top”. It is a known working squeezelite client so you should use that.

Oh sorry, maybe I wasn't clear in my original Post.
With MPD it worked very well. But later I uninstalled MPD and installed Squeezelite manually on it which connects to my LMS server. That solution now doesn't work as intended

Just don’t enable any of the LMS options. You just want the squeezelite client. You should not try and run LMS and MA together and you cannot run them in the same host.
